First impression of Sweet Honey Bee:

I am hearing great feedback on Sweet Honey Bee so of course I felt compelled to purchase one to review. Actually, it’s more than great feedback, candle lovers are going crazy over it!

Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:

Honeycomb, nectar, sweet lemon, honeyed ginger.

Sounds interesting. Just based off that, I was imagining a sort of lemon tea maybe or solid honey with a hint of lemon? I really had no idea what to expect. – – Once I received my candle and smelled the wax… I wasn’t sure what to think. For me, the wax smelled like a floral perfume. I wasn’t smelling lemon or honey – at all. So, just based off cold sniff, I was not liking this fragrance.

And just to make sure it wasn’t just me, I asked my husband to smell the wax to get his opinion and he agreed with me 100%. This scent was solid perfume. He thought it smelled like gardenia perfume. Next came my daughter who agreed… a flowery perfume. No one in my house liked it. Yikes!!

With that said, let’s see how it performs once lit.

I lit this candle in my master bedroom and within minutes of lighting the wicks, the fragrance was traveling throughout my bedroom. One plus, this candle wasn’t super strong and gave a medium scent throw so it wasn’t overpowering… I think that would have made it worse had it been. The aroma… it still smelled like a flowery perfume to me but it wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t handle it. I still couldn’t detect honey or lemon in this fragrance no matter how hard I tried. All I could smell was flowers and it really did smell like perfume. Like a magnolia type scent. It was a very sweet and southern kind of floral. My husband (I have to mention this) made it crystal clear the moment he walked into our room he didn’t like this candle and asked me to hurry up and get this review over with. LOL!! It was floral all the way and he – did – not – like – it!!

Strength – I would rate this candle a 7/8 in a really large room. 10 in small and medium size rooms.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned fine. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.

Closing to my review:

Sweet Honey Bee was an interesting scent and although it performed beautifully, it’s not a fragrance I have the desire to experience again. That’s a total personal choice. I’m holding firm this candle did not smell like honey or lemon. Maybe it was the honeyed ginger that smelled like flowers… I don’t know. I just know it was not my cup of tea.

If you love sweet floral scents, this candle may be for you and I recommend you head on over to a Bath & Body Works store and smell one for yourself. You may walk away with a few. You never know. ?

I don’t see this fragrance online right now so try your local store. I bet they have plenty there to purchase. It wasn’t that long ago I purchased this candle.
