First impression of Strawberry Melon:
Let’s start off with the scent description:
Red Strawberry with sweet Melon and soft Vanilla.
Perfect!! Putting my nose to the wax, I smelled strawberry and vanilla with strawberry standing out the most to me. Crossing fingers the melon comes to life once the candle is burning since that’s what I want to smell the most.
Let’s find out!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and ended up leaving it there till the very end. I wanted maximum scent throw so a small room worked best. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 3 hours to reach a full melt pool and the aroma…. a sweet and sugary strawberry. No melon, no vanilla. To me, the aroma was a candied strawberry with lots of sweet sugar. It was nice and I enjoyed it but it missed it’s mark as far as matching the description. I’d be fibbing if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed.
Strength – this fragrance was light and I’m glad I stuck to a small room to burn it in. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 5 in a small room. I wouldn’t even attempt burning it in anything larger.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned fine. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish. It just burned very-very slow.
Closing to my review:
Strawberry Melon would be better named to simply Strawberry. That’s what it smelled like to me. A sweet and subtle strawberry loaded with sugar. I enjoyed it but would have loved it had there been melon in the mix. Oh well. Staying positive, I still enjoyed the fragrance for what it was so it’s all
good.
