First impression of Spice It Up, Cinnamon Pretzel Twist:
I had a hard time getting my hands on this candle. Every time I tried online, it sold out and it was hard getting to a store with the nearest one an hour away from me. My persistence paid off however and I finally got one, and now that I have, I’m kicking myself for not purchasing a few more. This candle smells so good, you’ll want to eat the wax with a tall glass of milk. Those are my absolutely favorite kind of bakery scents, the realistic ones you want to devour. YUM!!
Here is the scent description for Spice It Up:
Fresh ground cinnamon, soft homemade pretzel, vanilla cream icing.
You would think a soft pretzel wouldn’t smell sweet, warm and bakery but this one did. The moment I sniffed the wax, I about swooned; well, not quite but I definitely closed my eyes and inhaled in appreciation. The wax smelled sweet and warm, like a super yummy cake with sugary icing on top. That’s what made this scent for me, the icing mixed with the warm bakery notes. It smelled good enough to eat. For real!
I loved the scent, now crossing fingers it burns okay and is strong enough to fragrance a large room. Please, please, please!!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom to start out and that’s where it stayed till the very end. Once the wicks were lit, it took the average 20 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the aroma from then on out was oh so yummy. It smelled exactly as it did cold… a perfect bakery cake type scent filled my bedroom with fragrance and yes, I could 100% smell the icing loud and clear along with hints of cinnamon in the description. It didn’t really smell like a pretzel to me and I was perfectly okay with that. I was after the warm bread notes with sweet icing and definitely got that. I loved it. The one and only bummer to this candle was how it burned. See my comments below.
Strength – I would rate this candle an 8 in a really large room which was decent. 10 in medium to smaller rooms. Great scent throw.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect until the halfway point and then BAM, faulty wick situation here we come. One wick went out, and then two and from then on out, it was a merry go round trying to get them all to stay lit. I finally did get them to stay lit but it was a real pain. ☹
Closing to my review:
I loved Spice it Up and definitely recommend it to all you bakery lovers out there. Find one and smell it, I bet you’ll purchase one, or two. I know I will next time I see this scent online or in a store. I just hope my next one burns correctly. That’s the gamble you take with this brand. Some burn perfect, some burn not so perfect.
Don’t see this candle listed on Bath & Body Works website? Try one of their stores which tends to carry all their fragrances vs online.
Happy candle hunting!
