First impression of Sapphire Orchid:

What a gorgeous candle this was with its bright sapphire blue coloring. Even the wax was sapphire blue and boy did it smell fresh as can be.

An exotic blend of fresh floral and berry blossoms atop a sumptuous woody base.

I’m not a fan of floral scents but this fragrance was not your average sweet and heavy floral. Nope. Sapphire Orchid smelled like a fresh fruity floral – like tropical flowers drenched in sugar and tart berries. Seriously!!

I loved it!

I decided to stay conservative and light this candle in a medium size room and it ended up being a good call. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 5 hours to reach a full melt pool, but the aroma was moving through the room long before that and it was wonderful! My entire guest bedroom smelled like the freshest fruity/floral.

The word of the day… Fresh!! It’s a perfect description for this scent.

The wood base as indicated in the description gets lost in the mix but the floral and berries – WOW!! Just to clarify, you can’t really pinpoint exactly what floral scent you’re smelling – it’s just there. At least that’s how I smelled it. And the tart berries? Oh yes! That part is loud and clear, and it reminded me of super tart raspberries drenched in sugar. Blended with the floral – perfect!

Strength – I didn’t test this candle in a large room, but my guess would be a 5 out of 10. I did test it in a medium room and I would rate it a 7/8 in a medium room and 10 in a small. All in all, not bad for a mass-produced candle.

How did my candle burn?

This candle took forever to reach a full melt pool – 5 hours to be exact. Once it did, it burned great right about at the halfway point. After that, it was a breeze. Clean burning. No soot.

Closing to my review:

I loved Sapphire Orchid and totally recommend this fragrance to all you fresh and floral lovers out there. I sound like a broken record, but Pier 1 Best scented candle was right to add “fresh” to the description. That word defines this scent to me. Super fresh floral with tart berries and sugar. Another part I want to add before closing is how beautiful this candle was to watch burn. The dark blue wax glowing from the flame was so striking to watch. I think I loved the aesthetics just as much as the fragrance.
