What did my candle smell like?
Rio Red Guava smelled like the sweetest berry scent filled with sugar and another fruity component I was having a hard time pinpointing. Whatever it was, I loved it the moment I smelled it.
Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:
Bring home the vibrancy and beauty of Rio with succulent tropical guava layered over flavorful passionfruit.
YUM!! That’s what I was smelling… passionfruit!! So sweet and fresh, which Bath & Body Works always has the best blends. Guava I was having a hard time picking up on. To me this scent was all passionfruit and sugar. Super refreshing.
Time to find out how it performs!
I lit this candle in a large bedroom to start out and ended up moving it to a smaller room an hour after lighting it. The aroma was more subtle than I’m used to with this brand and wanted the best scent throw possible. Moving it worked. Once I placed it in a medium sized bedroom, the fragrance moved through the room much faster and the aroma… a sweet passionfruit and I’m guessing guava as that sweeter (creamier) component. It was really nice.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 4 in a large room. 7 in a medium room and 10 in a small room. If you’re after scent throw, I would definitely stick to small and medium sized rooms to burn this in. You’ll be much happier.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burn from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
I really enjoyed this fragrance. My only critique would have been the strength. If it had been a tad stronger so I could have burned it in a larger room… that would have been perfect.
If you love sweet berry type fragrances and Rio Red Guava makes a comeback… definitely go smell it at a Bath & Body Works store. It smells really
good.
