First impression of Remember When:
Bridgewater Candles has a special program called Light a candle, feed a child and it’s quite simple… if you purchase a candle in a selected category on their website, they will donate proceeds from the sale to an organization called Rice Bowls, a company that feeds children in need in third world countries. So, according to their website, the candle I’m reviewing will provide three meals to children in need. How cool is that? I get a candle to enjoy… Bridgewater gives back. It’s a very heartwarming idea.
Now onto my candle. The scent is called Remember When and it smelled like a warm bakery with lots of cinnamon.
Here is the scent description:
A dash of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg create a recipe handed down with love.
That description doesn’t tell you much but the label for Remember When showed big round cinnamon rolls loaded with cinnamon on top and that’s exactly what the wax smelled like. A bakery vanilla bread/cake with lots of cinnamon. Ginger and nutmeg? Not sure on those two since the cinnamon dominated overall. I will tell you this, it sure smelled good.
Time to light my candle!
I decided to stay conservative and light my Remember When candle in a small room to start out and that’s where it stayed till the very end. Once the wick was lit, it took a full day to reach a full melt pool. Yes, it took a very long time. The aroma… a warm and cozy cinnamon bakery. Did it smell like cinnamon rolls? Not really. For me, it lacked that doughy bakery element I would want in a cinnamon roll scent. Instead, I thought it smelled more like a cinnamon vanilla.
Strength – this candle wasn’t super strong. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a super small room. In a medium room or larger, it will probably scent the area right around the candle but not the entire room.
How did my Remember When candle burn?
This candle struggled a bit to reach a full melt pool the entire life of this candle and that was a little frustrating. At times, a thick layer of wax wouldn’t melt so I ended up using my wick dipper to push that wax back into the melt pool so all the wax eventually got used up. Not a big deal but something I still like to point out.
Closing to my review:
Remember When was a nice cinnamon bakery and I did enjoy it but not sure enough to purchase again. Why? It lacked the “wow” factor for me. The scent was a little too generic, meaning, nothing really stood out enough to make me want to purchase it again. That happens. If you however love cinnamon bakery scents, you may really enjoy this fragrance. It was a nice vanilla bakery filled with cinnamon spice.
I have a few more Bridgewater candles to review so stay tuned.
Happy candle hunting!

Very nice article! Honest and fair. I tried a similar Candle from http://www.divabyharper.com but I brought it from amazon just out of ease. This candle was Cinnamon Scented and it was a Vegetable Wax and it was surprisingly strong and a very good scent of Cinnamon took over my front room. It was not an over powering scent but it was very strong, but it was still pleasant. You could possibly review this same candle also to see what you might think. I know a lot of people have purchased it but I have not heard much feedback.
Hi Brad. Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely check out that brand. 🙂
