Pina Verbena Chesapeake Bay Candle ReviewPina Verbena

By Christina Rylan

Brand: Chesapeake Bay Candle

Type: 19oz candle

Fragrance: Pina Verbena

Scent Strength: Light

First impression of Pina Verbena:

Target has some pretty cool candles to choose from and Chesapeake Bay is one of their bigger brands they carry. I’m attracted to anything tropical and this candle smelled pretty darn good. It was also large with two wicks and the price… $9.95… not bad at all for a two wick large candle. When I popped off the lid, I smelled a fresh coconut and pineapple. Actually, more pineapple than coconut with a little extra kick of something else. I liked. ?

I couldn’t find a scent description on Target’s website but the label and name pretty much tells you what it’s going to smell like. Pineapple and sweet coconut. Did it also have fresh verbena in it too? Oh, I hope so!!

Time to light my candle!

sugarcane pineappleThis candle was big and had two wicks but I still decided to stick to a small bathroom to burn it in and it ended up being a perfect choice. Once the wicks were lit, it took a good 30 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… I smelled a very light fragrance of lemon and pineapple. The coconut notes I at first smelled totally went bye-bye, leaving behind a fresh and tart pineapple with hints of sweet lemon. It was nice but very light, even for a small bathroom. That was the only bummer. Had it been stronger, I would have loved it even more.

Which brings me to strength. I would rate this candle a 6 out of 10 in a super small room. That’s not very strong. 0 out of 10 in a medium and large room. So my advice should you give this candle a try, stick to a very small bathroom and then go from there.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end.

 Closing to my review:

Pina Verbena from Chesapeake Bay was a yummy pineapple and lemon scent, it was just super light. That was the only downside to this candle. Would I purchase it again? Due to the strength, probably not but as far as the fragrance itself, I really enjoyed it. Should you see this candle at your local Target store, smell it and see for yourself. Who knows, you may take a chance and purchase one. If you do, I hope you get a better scent throw than I did.

Happy candle hunting!
