First impression of Bamboo Jasmine:

Just an FYI… I was totally jumping out of my comfort zone burning this candle. I mean… Bamboo Jasmine? Yeah, not my kind of fragrance but once I actually smelled the candle… wow! It was really beautiful.

Here is the scent description I pulled from Chesapeake’s website:

Blossoming water lilies sit atop a sunlit bay while dewy green bamboo and juicy orange diffuse a refreshing scent. The delicate and sweet florals of jasmine and muguet paint a scene of a summer day outside, surrounded by the bounty of nature.
Notes:
   T: fruity, cherry, orange, dewy green notes
   M: bamboo, jasmine, muguet, water lily
   B: musk, green moss

I had no idea what “muguet” was so I had to do an internet search on it. Here is what I found: a French term for Lily of the Valley.

Smelling the wax… this fragrance was solid floral. A very soft and sweet floral. My nose detected dewy green, teeny hints of bamboo and solid jasmine. Maybe the Lily of the Valley too but it was hard to tell. To me, this candle smelled like a dewy flower garden. Very sweet and heavy. Yikes!! My hubby will not be happy with me once I light this candle.

Let’s get to it.

I was very brave and lit this candle in my master bedroom – hours before the man of the house got home. That gave me time to really enjoy the fragrance and also let it permeate my bedroom in peace. Once the wick was lit, it took a good hour to reach a full melt pool but the fragrance was showing itself long before that and WOW!! It was very-very strong and smelled just as it did cold… a dewy green aroma with sweet jasmine. I’m not a floral fan and I wasn’t ecstatic about this fragrance but I did enough to appreciate the beauty of it. Floral lovers… this was a gorgeous scent. Sweet jasmine and bamboo all the way and it was a room filler.

Can’t end this review without adding my husband’s two cents… we all know he had a few pennies to add. ? As I expected, he didn’t care for this scent at all. The moment he walked into our bedroom, silence. Five minutes later he walked out and said… “Good grief! How long do I have to endure this scent? It smells like White Shoulders perfume!” Hahahaha!!!! My reply, only for today and I hugged him for being such a good sport.

Strength – I would rate this candle a 10 across the board in any room. This candle filled my bedroom, open bathroom and even wandered outside my bedroom into my great room. Basically, it dominated the entire upper level of my home.
