What did my Midnight Blue Citrus candle smell like?

Let’s start off with the scent description for Midnight Blue Citrus.

A wonderful mix of fresh citrus, blue waters and soft musk with the beauty of the tropical seas at night.

That sounds lovely and unique. When I popped off the lid to smell the wax, all I could detect was a sweet component I wasn’t quite sure what it was. It smelled like a sweet tropical fruit blended with something fresh (which I’m guessing was the blue waters) and a teeny hint of musk. Citrus? Maybe but it was hard to tell. Overall, this was a nice sweet and fresh scent combined and one that you kind of have to experience yourself to really appreciate.

Time to find out how this candle performs!

I lit this candle in my master bedroom and within 20 minutes, the aroma was traveling all through my bedroom and adjoining open bathroom, so the strength was very nice. The scent…. the same as when I first smelled the wax – a sweet and fresh aroma that smelled almost girly and powdery. I still wasn’t making out citrus – to me this scent was a sweet fruity/floral scent. I really liked it and think it’s one of those fragrances I recommend experiencing for yourself.

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8 in a large room… 10 and above in a medium to smaller rooms.

How did my candle burn?

This candle started out great until the halfway point. From halfway down, all three wicks fizzled out and it was an uphill battle from there. Disappointing.

Closing to my review:

I enjoyed this fragrance a lot and would totally purchase it again. It was fresh, sweet and brightened up my bedroom. The only downside… the wicks on the candle died about halfway down… a classic issue this brand has had in the past. It’s luck of the draw so I do plan on purchasing this fragrance again if it makes a comeback to see how the next one burns.
