Mango Mai Tai Bath & Body Works Candle Review

First impression of Mango Mai Tai:
In my opinion, no one quite does tropical like Bath & Body Works and Mango Mai Tai smelled pretty delicious. Without reading the description on the bottom of the candle, I smelled sweet mangoes, lots of sugar and sweet vanilla cream. SUPER yum!!!!
The fragrance description reads as:
Fresh mango nectar, exotic jasmine, sun-kissed grapefruit. With essential oils.
Huh? Say what? Smelling the wax, I didn’t smell a lick of jasmine or grapefruit. To me, the wax smelled like sweet mangoes and sugar and reminded me of a fresh tropical drink.
Okay, loved it!! Now let’s see how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom and soon realized this candle needed to be moved to a smaller room. Once moved to a medium size room, I moved it again an hour later to an even smaller one. This fragrance was lighter than I realized which was a bummer, but once I found the right place for it… YUM!! My entire bathroom smelled like a sweet mango smoothie. Up close to the candle with my nose literally over it, I could smell a teeny hint of grapefruit, but it was super light.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 4 out of 10 in a really large room. 6/7 in a medium and 9/10 in a small. This fragrance was definitely on the lighter side which was kind of disappointing for this brand.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
Loved the scent itself, disliked the strength, and because it was so light, I probably won’t be purchasing it again. I do enjoy this brand (when they burn correctly) but for the price, I expect them to at the very least to give a medium scent throw. If they don’t, it’s not a justifiable purchase for me.
Should you run across Mango Mai Tai at your nearest Bath & Body Works store… give it a sniff and see what you think. Or, if you’ve already tried it… thoughts? Was it light for you too? Comment below.
