Introduction to my review:
I don’t know about you but when I walk into Kohl’s, I head straight for the candle section. They have so many choices now… I love it!! While browsing, I spied a section of candles that looked really similar to Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles only these were a little smaller with 2 wicks. I purchased one fragrance to start out. I figured if I loved it, I could always go back for more. The scent… Jelly Bean from Blossoms + Blooms.
What a perfect candle for Easter! The color of the wax was perfect… layers of purple, blue, and green. The label on the candle complimented the fragrance to a “T“… a rainbow color of jelly beans covered the entire background with a little banner to the left in orange showing the brand name and fragrance. Very festive, bright and colorful.
How did my candle smell?
First sniff…. loved!! It smelled just like jelly beans… sweet sugary candy!! I swear I could almost taste them in my mouth just smelling the wax! So perfect!! There was no scent description to reference but I don’t think one is needed…. This scent is solid and sweet jelly beans. The truest one I’ve ever smelled. I was really impressed. the true test though… will it be strong and burn okay? Time to find out!!
I started this candle in a big room just to see how it would do. It started out pretty slow and ended up tunneling from then on out. Total bummer!! The bright side… wWhat wax did melt produced a nice and strong fragrance. The scent also stayed true… the aroma was sweet and sugary jelly beans… so sweet, you could seriously almost taste them. YUMMY!!!! What a perfect fragrance for spring and Easter! Too bad the candle didn’t burn very well.
Strength – hard to gauge accurate strength since the candle never burned fully… just by what I could smell, on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this candle a 7 and probably would have been a 10 had it burned correctly. Even with such little wax melting, the fragrance was wonderful and pretty strong.
This candle did not burn very well. Such a bummer because the fragrance was perfect! I didn’t trim the wicks before lighting… just lit it “as is” and as you can see from the picture above, the wicks only burned hot enough to melt the wax directly around them. So SO bummed!!
Closing to my review:
I really loved this fragrance… I just wish the candle would have burned correctly. I ended up burning it a full day and then scooped the rest of the wax out and used it in my melters so the candle wouldn’t go to waste. The fragrance was absolutely PERFECT… a true and sweet jelly bean aroma.
I purchased this candle directly from a Kohl’s department store. I looked online but I didn’t see it listed there. So if you happen to be in a store, go smell one… you’ll be amazed at how realistic is smells. And if you purchase one… maybe you’ll have better luck than I did. I’m hoping my candle was an isolated dud… you never know.
Happy candle hunting!
