What did my candle smell like?
Island Pomelo Dragonfruit smelled wonderful! As soon as I popped off the lid at Walmart, a zesty and fresh fruity scent surrounded me. I was tempted to throw a few candles in my cart, it smelled that good… but I forced myself to only buy one for now. If I love it, I can always go back for more. So says the candle lover who has a thousand candles in her arsenal. Lol!!

Island Pomela Dragon Fruit is fragranced with bright, sunny pomelo, sweet orange and pink grapefruit, blended with candied dragonfruit and island mango, fused with hints of green citrus leaf and warm citron woods.
Nice description!! Smelling the wax for the first time, it was hard breaking down what exactly I was smelling. All my nose detected was a tart and sweet fruity scent. Very tangy and super fresh!! If I had to pick elements out of the description, I would have to say pink grapefruit for sure with a blend of tropical fruits. Pretty much everything in the description minus the green citrus leaf and citron woods but only because I’m not as familiar with those two aromas to know for sure. Whatever I was smelling… I loved it.
Time to find out how this candle performs!!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom since Better Homes candles are generally lightly scented for me and I have to say… this candle surprised the heck out of me!! Within minutes of lighting the wick, the aroma was already filling the room with fragrance. Within 20 minutes, it was room saturation strong and spilling out into my hallway and beyond. I could easily have moved this candle into a medium size room and it would performed fine. WOW!!! The scent….. a zesty grapefruit blended with a plethora of other sweet fruity scents I was having a hard time picking apart. The overall scent…. a sweet tropical grapefruit cocktail that drew me in from start to finish. I absolutely LOVED this fragrance.
Strength – boy did it give a great scent throw. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 9 in a small room, 7/8 in a medium room and maybe a 5 in a large room. That’s awesome for this brand.
Melts – WOW!! Mega strong!! Same scent as above but 20 times stronger. The moment I placed the wax cubes in my electric melters… the fragrance was noticeable… within 15 minutes, it was room saturation strong. It was so strong, it was almost too much for me. At times the aroma was so strong, I could almost taste it. So, this is a scent you’ll want to melt if you love super strong (room saturation) scents.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned great. Zero issues. Clean burning from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
I loved this candle and plan on purchasing a few more before summer ends. Fruity and citrus lovers… definitely check this one out next time you’re at Walmart. It’s pretty awesome and boy was it strong which surprised me since this brand is generally on the lighter side… for me anyway.
The melts…. definitely pick some up if you love mega strong and I mean mega strong!! I had to turn every other melter off in my home while I had 
this scent going and that included downstairs. I couldn’t believe it.
