First impression of Golden Cinnamon:
Let’s start off with the scent description for Golden Cinnamon:
Simple break off its golden bark to release the warmth of autumn’s finest cinnamon – sticks of cinnamon bark, soothing vanilla and a dash of salted caramel.
Yummy!! And great description! Smelling the wax, it smelled like creamy vanilla and cinnamon. Maybe a touch of caramel… it was hard to tell. But a note I did detect along with cinnamon and vanilla was the “golden bark” notes. I almost want to say it reminded me of a warm amber spice of some sort. It was very warm and lovely.
Time to see how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom and came back an hour later to a lightly scented room of sweet and creamy golden cinnamon with that spicy note I was detecting… it smelled just like it did when I first smelled the wax. I liked it, I just wish it would have been a tad stronger. The candle was pretty lightly scented which surprised me considering Bath & Body Works candles are usually room fillers for me.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 6 in a large room. My guess is 8+ in medium and smaller rooms which I may have to try next time I purchase this candle.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned perfect until a little over half way down. From there, the wicks started fizzling out and finally extinguishing causing the candle to tunnel. It didn’t matter what I did to try and remedy it. Total bummer.
Closing to my review:
I liked this fragrance and will probably purchase it again to burn in a smaller room. The strength was just a little lighter than I expected but the scent was unique and I really enjoyed it…. it was a warm and spicy cinnamon vanilla with a unique spice element to it I can’t really describe… it’s just one of those scents you need to experience yourself, especially if you love warm vanilla fragrances.
The negative aspect to this candle – burn performance. For the price we pay for these candles, they should ALWAYS burn perfect and I always feel like I wait with baited breathe each time I light one to see if it malfunctions. So, keep that in mind should you purchase this brand. Not every candle is created equal. Some burn fine, some don’t.
