  1. I appreciate hearing everyone's opinions, whether good or bad. Perhaps Louise will adjust the scent in her tarts if she hears from more than one person that there is too much of a chemical smell. I don't understand why she was not nice to Melissa, especially as Melissa is her biggest fan.

Today I am melting Candles by Victoria's Chocolate Orange, which is super strong. These are very large 2 oz tarts, so I may have to slice them in half for future use.

  2. Fleur and Debra, the problem with me getting opinions from my family is that everyone likes different things ! My 14 year old daughter doesn't like anything I melt, and she has turned my burner off at times, too. My 10 and 11 year old's will sometimes put surprises in my burner pots because they get a thrill out of seeing things with hardened wax on them. I once had wax explode all over my window blinds after a piece of playdoh was put in the melter cup .

  3. Mom, it is so true that different warmers produce different throws. Today I am melting Rosegirls' Cranberry Lodge, which I was a bit disappointed with when I previously tried it with my 12 watt burner. I am melting it now with my new 24 watt burner and it is so much stronger and more delicious ! I am thrilled.

  4. Melting Crosscreek's Berry Balsam in the living room and was melting Nene's Peppermint and Pine in the kitchen. My youngest daughter asked me to turn off the peppermint and pine because she didn't like the peppermint. It was a nice clear, strong scent. Guess I'll melt it tomorrow when she is at school.

Does anyone else get unwanted comments from their family about the candles or tarts?

  5. I put in one of the small free samples Louise from DreamTarts gave me. It is called Christmas Hearth. For such a tiny tart, the throw is great and it smells yummy. Since it is about a third of the size of her regular tarts, I doubt it will last the rest of the day but it has been going strong for almost two hours now.

Okay, just added the other small Christmas sample she sent me. This one is called Nutcracker and should be a good compliment to the first one as they both have maple, nuts, and vanilla in the mix.

  6. I just burned B&BW's Vanilla Coconut oil and was surprised at how light of a scent it is. This is the first oil by them that wasn't strong. It's not unpleasant at all, but there are other better ones. I am going to take this one back, along with Pineapple Mango, and choose two different oils. Hopefully, I can pick up the Twisted Peppermint.

  7. Melting Nene's Three Wise Men, which I thought was just frankincense and myrrh. My daughter just came home and kept insisting that she smelled pine and I said,"Nonsense, there is no pine in frankincense and myrrh."

Well lo and behold, I looked up the description on Nene's and it does have pine in it ! I hate it when my teenager proves me wrong. LOL

This ancient blend of frankincense and myrrh is combined with the fresh, uplifting and harmonious notes of fresh balsam pine, Arabian spices, East Indian patchouli atop a base of sweet sandalwood

  8. Just reading back over everyone's posts, and noticed that we have another military family ! Michelle, you must be so relieved that your husband is home ! I bet this separation has been hard for your children, also, as they are old enough to know what this war is about.

I've also noticed that we have two nurses-Debra and Tiffany. I've always loved nurses as I used to work closely with them when I was a social worker. Nurses keep hospitals and health care facilities going. Forget doctors..nurses do ALL of the hard work.

  9. I have noticed that many of us have young children.

Tiffany, having triplets must be exhausting, and they are still so young. Wow ! Are they best friends? My two youngest girls are only 14 months apart in age and they are true buddies. I am so glad they have each other. It must have been so difficult having your husband away for so long. Please tell him how much he is appreciated for protecting all of us !

  10. Cat, your husband is so cute ! My husband keeps making snide comments about how I'm spending money on something I just burn up.

Mom, thanks for the review of both Sugared Spruce scents. I have been neglecting my PI Sugared Spruce and Victorian Christmas candles. If I don't light them now, when will I enjoy them ?

This morning I burned my B&BW Pineapple Mango oil for the first time. Not so sure if this scent is my personal taste, although it is very realistic. Maybe my frame of mind is more oriented towards heavier scents right now, but if you like Pineapple, this is a winner. I bought it because the reviews for it on the B&BW website were outstanding.

That fantastic Jasmine Vanilla oil from yesterday is still on my mind.

  11. Mom, I had to check out the nastiness too, and even posted my 2 cents worth. You'll find it under The Best Tarts Ever. Oh..nevermind. I see you found it. Yes, over TARTS ! LOL

I like this forum much better, too. It's a lot more active and I feel more comfortable talking about my "addiction" and other personal stuff here.

  12. Tonight I am burning 2 of my favorite YC scents......Christmas Wreath and Christmas Cookie. I have them both in large jars and loving every bit of them. The Christmas Cookie is not that strong this time around. Well, it is stronger when I take the stopper thingy off. OK, just took that dumb thing off. It does help them burn better but cuts the throw down.
