Gearing up for Irene late Sat. into Sunday - not looking good up this way I'm way inland, so no worries there (new moon astronomical high tides - what timing) but man, I hope we don't lose electricity. Going to grab non-perishables tomorrow night, and we'll see what happens. I've been through them before, but it's always freaky getting prepped up beforehand. Hey all! Happy Anniversary, Aria! :D I was at work and didn't feel the quake at all, though people in town did. My Dad was talking to someone outside of his post office and didn't feel it, nor did my brother. Saw some cool stuff on the news about it. It was felt in 22 states (!!!) because our underground rocks are colder compared to the west coast, and if you feel it or not depends on what your foundation is built on - shale, etc. I geek out over scientific stuff like that, but not any damage they can potentially cause, of course. Kinda worried about Irene heading up this way, though. We had Bob in '91 - 20 years ago last Friday. Had a decent run with that one w/no electricity for a few days. Hey everyone! I missed yesterday's melt post - busy weekend, and I was too exhausted to type last night Sunday: Backroad Hobbies Coffee Bean and County Line Peppermint Stick in the living room. Blended a half tart of each in my two burners - smelled awesome! Backroad Hobbies Creme Brulee in the bathroom Universal Voodoo Extreme Passion in the bedroom. I've ordered from Tod a few times over the years, and love his unique blends. EP was a freebie and smelled great! I have a half dozen clams from his last sale, but I'm hoarding them until Fall - I don't want their deliciousness going out the window since they're still open Tonite: LOL Vanilla Christmas in the living room. Hope your plans work out :D Katz - sending good vibes for Shagster - I would be beside myself :( My sister's female cat took off several years ago, and there she was waiting for her on the steps about ten days later. She was pretty dirty, but no worse for the wear. We put fliers up in her neighborhood asking people to check their sheds, garages, and basements - we worried that she wandered in while someone was cutting their lawn and she wouldn't be discovered until they had to do it again. Hey candle peeps! Long day at work - chilled out for the last few hours catching up on the DVR. Hiya Sweet! Yes, it's Lavender Tulsi from Stash Tea. It's not THAT bad, but picture how straight herbal lavender smells in tart form, and yeah...drinking it is kinda weird Tulsi is a healing herb, and as we know, Lavender is wonderful for sleep. Bottom line is that it puts me down for the count - it's worth dealing with the odd taste. I'm a big fan of their Chamomile Nights and Mellow Moments teas for sleep as well. You can find a small selection of Stash at most grocery stores, but their full line is on their website (I only order online). I love their regular Herbal teas, too (English Breakfast, Green Tea, and Red Tea). For a quick supermarket fix, Twinings Chamomile and Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea are good too :) Tart time! Ten Digit Creations Tuscan Patchouli in the living room. My hands down favorite scent from TDC. Not that it needed it, but I pumped it up a bit with a few drops of Tuscan Patchouli HFO in each burner. Smelling GREAT in here! Hi Sweet! Those meeting totally suck w/our hours but we only have 3 or 4 a year as per corporate. I work in a restaurant, so we have to do them before we open. As long as I slather on some lavender oil and choke down a cup of Lavender Tulsi tea the night before, I'm good. Evening all! We've had rain glorious rain on and off for a few hours. We need it SO bad - up until Sunday, it hadn't rained in weeks. My family's lawns and gardens will be happy!! Hi Laurie! Sands of Morocco is fab - think you'll like it since we have similar tastes :D The description is: Blend of Carnation, Sandalwood, and Musk. It's definitely a comfort scent - has a creamy, sweet tinge to it. I've only ordered from AMS once (during a sale), but it was a positive experience. Waited maybe two weeks, but that's the norm with most vendors during a big sale. Happy with the throw on everything I bought, and I'd order from her again. Hi Stardustgirl! Love Shack Lilac was a first ever burn for me. Liked it - didn't love it. It kinda had a soapy vibe to it, and not enough lilac, imho. I agree, sweet&spiceygrl! OM&H is totally great - snuggly and comforting. I buy it when I see it on a scent list no matter the vendor - can never have too much of it I even get it in bath and body products from CYS! Nice cool night - 66 and dry. Guess it'll be humid this weekend, but not in an extreme sense. Summer will be over before we know it, so I don't mind it being gross out for the remainder of the season.
