Introduction to My First Cat Spring Candle Review… Cat Spring Candles is a new favorite of mine and I absolutely love these candles! I ordered so many candles from this company that it’s going to take me over a year just to burn them all (don’t ask, I’m obsessed, I can,t help it) I bought from this company on a pure whim and am really glad I did. What a deal and I love the sizes offered as well as the scent selection. Currently, the scent selection is approx. 96 and I’m sure is still growing. I do hope Carrie, owner of Cat Spring will start carrying more fruity summer scents since those are my favorites (hint-hint) but for you bakery scent lovers out there, you would enjoy these candles and scent selection as the menu does seem to lean toward bakery scents. I bought a bunch of winter fragrances and have burned quite a few already, 3 of which I’m reviewing. So far there hasn’t been one I haven’t liked which is an excellent ratio. I think it’s pretty normal to buy candles and not like everything you try. I normally expect that considering the amount I buy so it’s always a great bonus when I love my entire purchase. |
What Do My 20oz Candles Look Like? |
My candles are 20oz apothecary jars with rustic style metal lids. The labels on the candles are adorable and have a warm country feel to them. My candles are double wicked which I love and prefer. Grandma’s Kitchen is dark tan in color, Christmas Cookies is a light tan and Christmas Memories is red. |
How Did My Cat Spring Candles Smell? |
Grandma’s Kitchen: When I first smelled this fragrance, it smelled very buttery and rich to me. If I could bottle a classic “bakery” scent, this would be it. It smelled like everything you can imagine baking in your oven, seriously! The scent description for this fragrance is: “A day in Grandma’s kitchen consisting of buttermilk pies, vanilla cakes and sugar cookies. Now grab a glass of milk!” That is THE best description for this fragrance. I couldn’t have come up with anything better. It smelled just like all things yummy baking in your oven. Buttermilk stood out more than anything because the fragrance seemed so rich and I could really smell that warm flaky pie crust which I know a lot of you like. My daughter kept asking me what I was baking and when it would be done. LOL!! That is the best part I find when burning candles is how realistic the fragrance is. And the best part, I don’t have to bake anything! The scent throw with Grandma’s Kitchen was fantastic. It didn’t take long once I lit my candles to start noticing the scent and once I did, the scent was everywhere. It seemed very strong but not so strong that it was bugging me. Sometimes bakery scents can become overpowering to me but not this one, it was perfect. All I needed was real cookies and milk to complete the yummy fragrance throughout my home. YUM!! |
Christmas Cookies: I’ll start off with the scent description for this fragrance: “Super fresh baked yellow cookie without all the sugar…..more like fat free!” I don’t know about the fat free part because every time I had my Christmas Cookies candle lit, it made me want to eat real cookies. The fragrance smelled that good! I normally don’t like super sweet vanilla fragrances but Carrie, owner of Cat Spring Candles talked me into this scent. I bought it because I wanted to review some Christmas scents when the time came so I figured, what the heck. I’m really glad I bought it. This is a yummy scent and I will for sure purchase it again and not just for Christmas either. Although I’ve been burning cookie fragrances a lot lately, they aren’t my absolute favorite because most are too sweet for my taste. This scent was perfect and I mean perfect! Not too strong, not too sweet but the perfect vanilla cookie fragrance I’ve EVER smelled!! Even though I said Grandma’s Kitchen personifies “bakery”, I personally thought this candle blew it away but that’s a total personal choice. Christmas Cookies was so smooth and warm, just like the aroma of homemade cookies baking in your oven. This was also the first cookie fragrance where I actually found myself stopping to take deep breathes of the warm fragrance throughout my home. I highly recommend this fragrance for you sugar cookie or even vanilla lovers out there. |
