Carrot Nectarine White Barn Candle Review

First impression of Carrot Nectarine:
Carrot Nectarine is one of White Barn / Bath & Body Works new low sitting 3 wick candles. It’s the same size as their standard 3 wicks but these vessels are lower and wider. They’re cool looking and as long as they burn okay, I’m good. See picture above for visual reference.
Carrot Nectarine – sounds different right? It was. The moment I smelled the wax, a sweet and fresh citrus greeted my nose but also a green component that I’m assuming was the carrot.
Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:
Made with carrot seed and sweet orange essential oils.
So carrot seed oil must smell different than actual “real life” carrots do because I’m eating some baby carrots right now (as I’m typing this) and they don’t smell like anything. Smelling the wax however, I could definitely make out a very fresh vegetable kind of aroma along with the sweet citrus orange. It was nice and very different… I liked it.
Time to light my candle!
I lit this candle in my large master bedroom to start out and boy was it a perfect choice. Once the wicks were lit, it took a bit longer to reach a full melt pool compared to their standard size but the good thing… it does reach a full melt pool. I was worried it wouldn’t with the wider surface.
The aroma… the carrot seed definitely dominates this fragrance the most with orange more subtle in the background. Every time I walked into my bedroom to smell the air, I smelled a fresh sort of green/veggie scent. It wasn’t bad, it was just very different. For me personally, I would have preferred it the other way around… more orange and less carrot seed but hey…. that’s just me.
Strength – I would rate this candle an 8 out of 10 in a larger room. 10 in medium to smaller size rooms.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
I liked Carrot Nectarine. The scent wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but in the end, it kinda grew on me. I even think I may purchase it again but next time, I’ll burn it in my kitchen where I think the aroma would mesh more. Smelling a veggie kind of scent in my bedroom was a little odd. Even my husband raised an eyebrow or two to inquire.
Veggie lovers… or hey, I take that back – all of you wax loving peeps… go smell this candle next time you’re at a Bath & Body Works store. See what you think.
