When on vacation I was visiting a spa and decided to splurge on a Mango Tangerine 14 oz soy candle by Archipelago, for which I spent a hefty $36. The fragrance smelled great before I burned it. I kept opening the tin and the candle would smell up the whole room without being lit. I took the candle home and lit it and it was a whole different story. I let it burn for a full 6 hours and I could only smell it lightly. I went out the room and came back in several times just to make sure, but it was still a light fragrance. It was definitely not worth the $36 I paid for it. Even worse I found out that they use only a little over 50% soy wax in their candles. They don’t even claim that they are natural wax so they’re probably mixed with paraffin. I’m very disappointed with these candles and I think that for the price they could’ve at least given me a 100% soy candle. I also just found out that if a candle company uses over 50% soy wax in their blend they can safely call their candle a “soy candle” I’d definitley say make sure that if you want soy, you are getting soy.
