Sandalwood Citrus Bluewick Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Brand: Bluewick – OOB
Type: 12oz Summer Signature Candle
Fragrance: Sandalwood Citrus
Scent Strength: Light
First impression of Sandalwood Citrus:
Oh my goodness did this candle smell amazing and so far, I think it’s my favorite of the entire summer signature line from Bluewick I’ve tried so far.
Here is the scent description for Sandalwood Citrus:
White Sandalwood with Tangerine Blossom.
Simple but beautiful. I don’t know what “white sandalwood” is but boy was it perfect blended with tangerine. It smelled like an exotic but fresh body splash or perfume. Not really masculine but unisex. A scent that sweeps you to a happy place filled with sunshine and smiles. So far, so good.
Time to light this baby up!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out where it stayed till the very end. Once the wick was lit, it took about 3 hours to reach a full melt pool but the aroma was traveling through the room long before that and – wow!! The aroma was not what I expected at all… in a good way. I expected a sort of masculine citrus but I smelled a sweet sandalwood with swirls of something floral instead. I was obviously mistaken on the “Tangerine blossom.” I assumed it would be a sweet citrus and maybe it did have a tad of that but I also smelled a subtle floral too that really stood out the most.
In the end, this turned out to be a really beautiful floral fragrance and a perfect blend of mandarin, sandalwood and floral combined. The overall aroma was subtle but elegant. I really enjoyed this one and I’m not normally a fan of floral scents… I just wish it would have been a little stronger.
Strength – I would rate this candle a 6 out of 10 in a really small room. With that said, I wouldn’t even try in anything larger. This candle filled my tiny bathroom with aroma but it was subtle.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned fine. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish, it just burned really-really slow.
Closing to my review:
Sandalwood Citrus turned out to be a really nice and elegant floral scent and not at all what I was expecting. Would I purchase it again? Yes, but only if it were on mega sale. It’s kind of hard justifying a $30 candle that was so lightly scented. That’s just me though. If you have the cash flow and love Bluewick candles, give this scent a shot… it really was pretty.
Happy candle hunting!
