Introduction to my review:
Have you tried Goose Creek candles yet? I’m determined to review every candle on their website – one down, 40 more to go! A daunting task but what fun it will be!
Candle #2 and up next – White Pumpkin Ginger. I’ve tried **really** hard not to inundate myself with too many Pumpkin scents this winter but this one I couldn’t resist. It looked and sounded too yummy to pass up!
What did my candle look like?
Goose Creek Candles are identical in style to Yankee candle jars. The only difference, these have 2 wicks and are WAY stronger!! This candle was simple but pretty, I liked it. The wax was pure white and the label on the candle showed a white pumpkin in a fall setting. See picture for visual reference.
What did my candle smell like?
Let’s start with the scent description:
“Creamy white pumpkin & sugared ginger with hints of maple, sweet vanilla, spice and orange zest create this delicious and comforting scent.”
YUM!! That sounds perfect!! First sniff… It smelled spicy and creamy all at once. I smelled pumpkin, vanilla, spice and *maybe* teeny hints of ginger and maple… I wasn‘t smelling any orange zest. Reading the scent description and then smelling the wax… it was hard to pick apart exactly what components were in the mix. It smelled good though… like a warm spicy bakery aroma.
I’ve had pretty good luck burning Goose Creek candles in big rooms so I lit this candle in my big master bedroom to start. Once lit, it took a good hour for the scent to really start permeating the room and once it did…. Mmmmmm!!! The scent was cozy and delicious – a warm and creamy pumpkin scent. It actually reminded me of pumpkin bread… it was a perfect blend of pumpkin, spice and vanilla. I’m still not sure I could make out orange zest or maple though. Regardless… this scent was yummy and super cozy.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this a 7. It wasn’t super strong but gave a steady medium throw.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned pretty good. I did have to be vigilant keeping both wicks trimmed each day or the flames would have been out of control. A nice reminder to never light a candle and forget about it. My candle burned clean, no wasted wax. A+.
Closing to my review:
I really enjoyed this candle and would purchase it again. It was a nice creamy pumpkin with the perfect touch of spice and it totally reminded me of pumpkin bread. If you love pumpkin scents and are searching for something bakery… this would be a great choice. It’s warm and cozy.
