First impression of Spiced Cake:

I cannot walk into a Pier 1 store and NOT buy a candle. As soon as I saw Spiced Cake in a Pier 1 catalog, I made a trip to their store just to buy and review it. I love everything about this candle… the way it’s presented, the scent, the style, the wick, the lid…. love it all!! See picture above for visual reference. Cute right??

Let’s start off with the scent description:

Warm memories come flooding back with the rich scent of this spicy blend. Enjoy the warm aroma of pumpkin spiced with ginger, clove leaf, cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander.

Spiced Cake YUM!! This scent is all of the above. You can seriously smell it all. Popping the lid off, warm spice notes waft all around you. Pumpkin, clove, and cinnamon are what I smell the most and let me tell you… it’s wonderful. Imagine warm and spicy all entwined to perfection.

I decided to stay safe and burn this candle in a small room… I just had a feeling it would give a softer scent throw and I was right. Once lit, the aroma filled my small bathroom pretty quickly and it was perfect. I smelled a delicious spicy and warm fall scent. Not so much bakery as the name indicates… it reminded me more of walking into a gift shop filled with warm spices and cinnamon. Very nice!!

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 5 in a small room. It wasn’t very strong so if you purchase it, definitely stick to a small room to burn it in.

How did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. Love these sizzle wicks…. They light up right away and it burns full and even from beginning to end. A+

Closing to my review:

I loved this candle, from beginning to end and even though it was lightly scented, I was okay with that. When I purchase it again, I’ll just stick to smaller rooms.
