First Impression or Red Velvet Cupcake:
Red Velvet Cupcake smelled pretty good. When I first popped off the lid, I smelled a sweet and fluffy cake. Not super strong but warm and delicious. I liked it enough I’m hoping it gives a decent scent throw. We shall see!
Here is the scent description for Red Velvet Cupcake:
The heavenly red velvet scent has notes of moist cake, chocolate, sugar, and rich cream cheese icing.
Yum! I smelled pretty much everything in the description, even subtle hints of chocolate. I was impressed. This fragrance truly did smell like red velvet cake.
Melting:
I threw these melts in my electric warmers early in the morning before my kids woke up to get ready for school. Once the wax was melting, it took all of 5 minutes before the aroma started traveling and once it did… not good!! The scent morphed into a weird stinky feet smell. It’s funny too… I didn’t say anything to my boys what was melting and out of the blue, my teenage son came up to me and asked if he stunk. He thought the smell in the room was HIM. He even quietly changed his shirt before asking me. Ha ha ha ha!! I literally laughed and told him what it was. The face he gave me was priceless and he said I quote, “Nasty Mom! That scent smells like a boys locker room!” – – Hilarious!!!! Guess no more Red Velvet Cupcake from Food Network in this house.
In all fairness though… I could smell the bakery notes in the aroma when I was up close to the melter with my nose practically in the wax. It just wasn’t enough to like the overall fragrance. Total bummer.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate these melts an 8 in a large room. 10 in a medium and smaller room. Nice scent throw all around.
Happy melting!
