Introduction to my review of Red Apple Bakery from Glade:
Are you a fan of Glade candles? I’m still on the fence. The majority I’ve smelled have synthetic qualities to them and so far, I’ve only found one I liked enough to purchase – review here. I‘m now happy to report I can add a second one to that list… the scent… Red Apple Bakery. I don’t know about you but I’ve found it’s kind of hard to screw up an apple scent… especially apple pie and this proved to be true with this candle. First sniff… warm apples and cinnamon!
I lucked out and purchased a two pack for a special price. I think I paid $5.00 for both candles at Walmart. These candles are small so they’re great to burn in bathrooms.
What did my candle smell like?
Let’s start off with the scent description I found online:
“Follow your nose to the Red Apple Bakery where a warm welcome and mouth-watering aromas await. Homemade cinnamon apple crumble, baked fresh every day and perfect with a spoonful of ice cream The scent of mixed fruits and apple cider resides comfortably among the sweet aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg A warm layer of vanilla and cream provides a most tasteful finish.”
That’s quite a scent description and I’ll be in heaven if I smell all of the above when burning this candle. Smelling the wax… to me, it smelled like a simple apples and cinnamon fragrance. I didn’t pick up on vanilla cream or nutmeg but I still thought it smelled really good. It was a classic spicy apple scent.
I lit this candle in a small powder room since the candle was so small… I would compare it to a large flower pot votive in size. It took a good 30 minutes to really start noticing the fragrance and once I could, it smelled just like it did cold… a warm apples and cinnamon scent. Very classic, warm and cozy. The strength was light but still filled the small room with plenty of aroma. It was nice.
My candle burned pretty good. It started tunneling in the beginning but then righted itself about halfway down. I was really happy how this candle burned. There was no wasted wax in the end.
Closing to my review:
All in all… this was a pretty decent candle. It burned great, it scented the small room I had it burning in and it smelled pretty good. The fragrance wasn’t fake or synthetic at all and that has always been my biggest complaint with this brand. I think they did a good job with this one so if you run across this candle at one of your local stores… give it a smell. I think you’ll like it too.
Happy candle hunting!

This was only available during the holidays. I liked it and will purchase it again when it comes out again. If it does. If you like apple scents with cinnamon, you’ll like it and they’re cheap too.
