Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! I love pumpkin scents, but there is something really special about them this time of year. Bath & Body Works (including White Barn) has a handful of pumpkin scented candles, so I thought a comparison and contrast was in order. Besides which, this research project was a good excuse for me to let my fingers do the shopping.

Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte
Pumpkin Latte, Toasted Marshmallow, Praline Musk with Essential Oils
From Bath & Body Works
This candle is from the White Barn brand, and it is certainly the lightest of the four pumpkin-scented candles found at Bath & Body Works. It is slightly sweet from the marshmallow scent and the powdery musk notes predominant. There is very little pumpkin I sniffed in this candle. It is a light scent thrower, delicately scented a small room with its beautiful aroma. This would be best for crowds or holiday gatherings where you wouldn’t want to overwhelm your guests or food aromas.
Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow
Tahitian Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice, Homemade Marshmallow, Drizzled Caramel with Essential Oils
From Bath & Body Works
This is a sticky sweet candle scent that oozes with gooey marshmallow goodness. The blend of the sticky marshmallows with thick caramel makes this a super sweet scent. It is balanced nicely with the Tahitian vanilla, which tends to be a more creamy vanilla scent. This one carries more of the pumpkin scented notes, creating a well-rounded scent. This one is stronger than Marshamallow Pumpkin Latte, but it is still on the lighter side. It easily fills a medium sized room for us.
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin
Warm Cinnamon, Fresh Ground Clove, Vanilla Cream, Brown Sugar with Essential Oils
From Bath & Body Works
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is more a classic pumpkin spice scent. It is warm and slightly sweet with just enough toasted pumpkin to remind you of Fall. The notes are heavier but not too heavy, as it is lightened up with some smooth vanilla cream. This one is a tad bit stronger and fills a medium space for us with a little throw beyond.
Pumpkin Pecan Waffles
Maple Syrup, Golden Waffles, Pumpkin Spice, Brown Sugar with Essential Oils
From Bath & Body Works
Bakery lovers, rejoice! This is the strongest of the pumpkin scented candles from Bath & Body Works and it is full of bakery goodness. The maple syrup does predominate, making this scent thick and sweet. The underlying notes of freshly baked waffles makes us want to dip into the candle with a fork. I don’t smell much pumpkin in this scent, but it doesn’t stop this candle from being one of my favorites. It’s a house-filler, so probably not best for large gatherings or those sensitive to scents.
