What did my candle smell like?
Interestingly, I didn’t purchase this candle… it was gifted to me in one of my orders and boy, they couldn’t have picked a better scent since lemon is my #1 all time favorite!!
This candle looks very similar to Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles only this one was a little more narrow and had 2 wicks. The wax was a pale yellow… the label on the candle showed three mason jars surrounded by lemons filled with chilled lemonade. Mmmmm!!!! See picture above for visual reference.
Let’s start off with the scent description:
“The thirst quenching, bitter sweet aroma of a freshly squeezed glass of lemonade.”
I am a huge fan of lemon fragrances and that goes for all blends and variations…it’s so fresh and clean and I can‘t get enough of it. When I first popped off the lid to smell the wax, it was instant like… I smelled a sweet and creamy lemon… nothing synthetic or fake about it. First thought, it didn’t really smell like lemonade to me but we’ll see how it goes once it’s burning.
This specific candle was from Goose Creeks “Odor Eliminator” line. I’ve never tried one of these candles before so I was excited to review one. They couldn’t have picked a better scent, lemon is definitely a great odor eliminator by it’s very nature. Looking at their website, they boast their odor eliminator candles have a patented technology that’s guaranteed to eliminate odors which I imagine is great if you have pets or an awesome candle to burn after cooking.
So how did my candle perform? I haven’t tried Old Time Lemonade in one of their other candles yet so I can’t compare how this one faired next to their standard candles but based off the performance of this candle… awesome! I lit it in a pretty large room and it didn’t take long to start noticing the fragrance and when it reached a full melt pool… awesome! The strength was a nice and steady medium filling the room with a sweet and delicious lemon. The aroma filled my large bedroom, adjoining bathroom and even spilled outside the room into my hallway. Very nice!!
As far as lemonade scents go… I loved it. I’m still not sure I would call this an authentic lemonade scent since it lacked that lemony tartness but I loved it regardless. I found myself stopping often throughout the day just to take deep breaths in appreciation. I’ll definitely be buying more of this one. For sure.
My candle burned perfect. I did have to keep both wicks trimmed or the flames shot up but that’s pretty normal. Clean and even burn… no wasted wax.
Closing to my review:
Loved this fragrance. Loved it!! Lemon scents can be tough and when you don’t get it right… they either smell synthetic, like lemon cleaner or take on a weird fuel smell. This fragrance… perfect!! It was fresh, clean and super sweet. I’ll for sure buy it again.
Editing to add…. After I finished this review… I decided to light up their standard 3 wick tumbler candle in the same scent to see if I noticed a difference and oh my goodness… I think I like their 3 wick tumbler the best. It was SO STRONG and so lemony delicious!! After an hour of burning, the aroma saturated my bedroom, adjoining bathroom and spilled into the great room (which is a huge room) and overpowered the scent I had going in there. Mega strong!! LOVED!!!!!!
Lemon lovers… you will love this one.
Happy candle hunting!

it’s weird that their non-odor eliminating one wasn’t as strong as their regular lemon, don’t you think?!? either way — lemon candles are my FAVORITE for the kitchen (about the only place ill burn them). i’ve never tried odor eliminating candles before but have always been curious about them because i have big ol smelly dog hahahah…but maybe they aren’t all they’re cracked up to be!
