Introduction to my Merry Cookie review from Bath & Body Works:

We all know what and who Bath & Body Works is and if you don’t… well, I’d be pretty shocked. I love this store and hit it every time I’m in the mall even if only to smell everything.

I used to hit Bath & Body Works for all my lotions and soap cravings but lately, I’ve been sticking to strictly candle purchases. I am in LOVE with their candles!! They have really improved (performance wise) over the years and man do they have unique and awesome scents to choose from! And if you time it right, you can hit one of their 2 for $20 sales which brings each candle to $10.00 a piece. Sweeeeet!!!!! That’s the only time I ever buy so you know they have them often enough.

This review centers around their new Merry Cookie scent from their Holidays Traditions line. YUM!!!!!!  I am obsessed with sugar cookie scents so this was an easy choice to review.

What does my candle look like?

I’ve always loved the look of these candles. Glass cylinder style jars with flat chrome shiny lids. Each label matches the scent name with beautiful graphics. Super simple and classy. The wax color of this candle was a creamy white with three perfectly positioned wicks. Another cool added feature… on the top of the lid is a sticker shaped in an ornament and if you carefully peel it, you’ll find a recipe to make sugar cookies that inspired this scent. Very cute!!!

What did my Merry Cookie candle smell like?

I loved this scent the second I smelled it.

Merry Cookie is described from Bath & Body Works site as:

“A magical scent inspired by decorating Christmas cookies as a child, blending pure vanilla, butter and sugar. One of eight nostalgic collection fragrances inspired by the holidays at home.”

If you are searching for a super sweet sugar cookie scent, head over to B&B Works and stock up on this one while you can. It won’t be available for much longer. This scent is absolutely mouth watering! When I first opened the lid to this candle and got my first whiff, I actually moaned. My little 8 year old son smelled it and the words out of his mouth were “OMG, can I eat this?” – This candle literally smells like a real sugar cookie with sweet and sugary frosting. Very realistic, almost too realistic because a real baked sugar cookie doesn’t even smell this good.

The description on the bottom of the candle says:

 “A bowl full of cookie dough made from the very finest ingredients was the inspiration for this simply magical holiday scent.”

Oh yeah, sugary dough all the way. The main ingredient you smell – a pure and sweet bakery vanilla with perfect hints of butter and frosting. I know both descriptions don’t mention frosting but I swear I can smell it. Maybe it’s the sugar I’m smelling – either way, it’s wonderful.

I lit this candle in my bedroom and about 10 minutes later, I came into a room filled with a sweet and warm vanilla cookie scent. Scent throw, I’d say on a scale of 1 to 10, this gets about a 6 to 7. It’s not super strong but it’s decent – you can smell it the moment you walk into the room. I loved it!!

How did my Merry Cookie candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. No drowning wicks which these candle were notorious for doing in the past. Perfect burn with zero maintenance.

Closing to my Merry Cookie review:

Not much more I can say on this one other than I highly recommend it to all sugar cookie lovers. And to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t really consider this one a holiday fragrance… it’s pretty universal and I hope they morph it into a different name and keep it around permanently. I would buy this one over and over again.

If cookie scents aren’t your cup of tea… they have plenty of scents to choose from that are pretty awesome! Plenty of bakery scents along with may other fresh ones. And if you’re after holiday scents, they have a huge selection right now. Hit a store soon and go smell away. I bet you’ll walk away with at least a few.
