First impression of Lemon Vanilla Cake Batter:
As an avid lover of all lemon scents, the name of this candle completley sold me….. Lemon Vanilla Cake Batter!! YUM!! My mouth was practically watering when I first saw it – so of course I had to purchase one to review. And once this review is over and if I end up loving it… I’m going back and purchasing a few more. Crossing fingers!!
Here is the scent description for Lemon Vanilla Cake Batter:
The mouthwatering aroma of sweet lemon peels and juicy blueberries folded into vanilla cake batter for a scent that’s deliciously sweet.
First impression…. Sweet as can be lemon, so lemon cake batter all the way. It was perfect and I loved it based off first sniff alone. Blueberries? I didn’t smell any blueberries but who knows – maybe that will come to life once the candle was burning. If it’s not there, I won’t be upset. This scent smelled pretty perfect just as it was.
Time to find out how this candle performs!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom to start out and am sad to report, the fragrance wasn’t strong enough for a large room, nor a medium size room. Once I moved it to a smaller room (a bathroom,) it performed much better. The aroma… not what I was hoping for. The scent changed. The aroma before lighting smelled like a sweet lemon batter. Once burning, the warm bakery component went away leaving behind a simple lemon scent. It’s kind of hard to explain. The lemon wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Strength – this candle was lightly scented for me. In a small bathroom, I would rate this candle a 5 out of 10. I wouldn’t even attempt burning it in a medium or large room. I tried and the scent was too light.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned great until the halfway point. Once it reached halfway, the wicks tapered down to little nub flames. It still burned okay, just very slow. I also suspect that could be part of the scent throw issue. The wax didn’t get hot enough to release the fragrance. Just a guess.
Closing to my review:
Lemon Vanilla Cake Batter started out really promising and kind of ended with a question mark. It was an okay lemon but it didn’t really wow me enough to make me want to purchase it again. I’m bummed because I really wanted to love this scent.
