Introduction to my review:

This has been the year of the Jelly Beans! I’ve purchased more jelly bean candles this year than, well… ever! Every time I see this fragrance, I have to have it. It’s such a fun scent and my kids just love it! The only negative… burning these non stop is making me crave real jelly beans… not a good thing to crave when you’re calorie counting.

My Jelly Bean journey began this year at Kohl’s with a candle from Blossom‘s + Blooms… it smelled good and super authentic but didn’t burn very well. Then came Jelly Beans from Yankee Candle… that was actually not a bad candle. It smelled like sugary grape candy. And last but not least we have Jumping Jelly Beans from Goose Creek Candles. Now this candle had me salivating… it smelled tart and sugary sweet! And the above are just the ones I had time to review… I have about 4 more I’m saving for next year.

I loved everything about this candle from its bright pink wax to the label showing scattered and colorful jelly beans being dumped over from an Easter bucket. Their presentation was really well done.

What did my candle smell like?

Let’s start with the scent description:Jelly-beans-candle-1

“Edible notes of ripe peach, sweet raspberry, fresh apple and pear introduce us to the start of a delicious combination. Floral notes of hibiscus, lily and violet petals are coated with almond crème, vanilla bean and sugar.”

The floral in the description threw me, actually, the entire description threw me… my nose detected **zero** floral. I wasn’t detecting almond crème (that I could smell) and I really couldn’t make out peach, apple or pears either. To me, this scent smelled like tart raspberry candy. I actually thought it smelled like raspberry lemonade. It had a lemony tartness to it which I absolutely loved! So the notes I picked up on… raspberry, lemon and lots of sweet sugar. It was really a fresh and tart berry scent. LOVED!!

Jelly Beans? Sure, why not! The brand Sweet Tarts always comes out with their version of jelly beans right around Easter and they’re my absolute favorite. That’s what this fragrance reminded me of. Super lemony and tart jelly beans from Sweet Tarts.

Strength – This candle gave a pretty decent throw for its size but I would still recommend burning it in a small room. I burned this candle in a small bathroom and the fragrance was nice and strong. Anything larger and the scent would have been diluted and lost.

candle-flameHow did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect… no wick issues and burned clean with no soot.

Closing to my review:

I really enjoyed this candle and will for sure purchase it again should they bring it back next year. I just hope they bring it back in a larger size next time. For some reason, this fragrance was only available in their smaller mason jars, not theirThumbs up girl4 large jars which I would have preferred. Th larger jar would have given a stronger scent throw which I would have definitely loved. All in all though… excellent candle!

If you love tart candy fragrances, you would enjoy this candle! Presentation was perfect too so if you’re searching for a candle that’s fun (and opposite of floral) for Easter, this be it.

Happy Easter!
