Introduction to my Citrus Lavender candle review:

Goose Creek has come out with some great sounding scents for Spring and Summer…Georgia Peach, Lemon Herb, Plumberry Tulip just to name a few. Each sounds absolutely wonderful and I’ve been dying to try them all! One fragrance that really caught my attention was Citrus Lavender. I am a big-time citrus fan (lemon being my favorite citrus scent of all) and I’m quickly discovering my love for floral scents. I was anxious to know how these two scents would merge, plus the candle was just so pretty. I’m a sucker for candle eye candy.

Citrus Lavender - Goose Creek Candle ReviewWhat did my Citrus Lavender Candle look like?

This candle screamed spring – it was such a beautiful pastel purple color. It instantly got me in the warmer weather kind of mood. This was their large apothecary style jar with a domed lid. The label showed a bundle of lavender with a lemon to the side. The company name and scent name were clearly displayed on the front. The bottom of the candle had a candle warning label. This candle had two wicks – hooray!

What did my Citrus Lavender Candle smell like?

I’ve falsely held the belief that I was not a floral person, but truth be told, I was smelling the wrong florals. Fakey, perfumey florals that made my head hurt. No fun! But I have been enjoying a lot of Citrus Lavender - Goose Creek Candle Reviewgood florals lately, and this was no exception. Scent description for this scent:

“Refreshing lavender with a splash of citrus water. Enjoy notes of lemon, mandarin, lavender, jasmine & sandalwood.”

On cold sniff, the predominant scent was lavender. A very sharp lavender (not powdery or sweet) – more like Dutch lavender. I lit this candle in my powder room (usual starting point for testing candles) and left this candle to its own devices. It wasn’t long before I started smelling this candle from the powder room and beyond. An amazing burst of lavender with a healthy dose of citrus intertwined. The citrus kept this scent from being medicinal. It was so incredibly fresh and clean… I was absolutely blown away. I moved this candle out to a medium size room and finally into the open floor plan space (four large rooms that open into each other). It did VERY well in that space and I enjoyed every last whiff. Color me floral after all!

candle flameHow did my Citrus Lavender Candle burn?

I got a full wax melt pool in a very short period of time because of the two wicks on this candle. The wax melt pool was thin and even. I had no wasted wax in my jar. The flames on these candles did get big, so I did have to keep a very close eye on this one. Once the candle burned about 1/3 of the way down, the flames became much more “tame” and I felt comfortable letting it burn for longer periods of time.

Closing to my Citrus Lavender Candle review:
closing to my review
Goose Creek has some fabulous tried and true fragrances, but they have offered up a new line of scents that welcome in the Spring. I have several to review and I’m glad my intro into their new candles was this one: Citrus Lavender. It was an amazingly strong candle and it had such a nice, clean burn. The pastel purple color made it very pretty to display while burning. I would buy this candle over and over again – especially to burn in my kitchen or bathrooms.

I think this would be a candle to enjoy even if you don’t like florals – it is not perfumey in any way, just fresh and clean. I can’t wait to try other scents in this Spring line.

Happy candle burning

~ Andrea

  1. I agree with you Andrea. This is a wonderful fragrance. The soft floral of the lavender really is nicely punctuated by the tart, tangy citrus/lemon aroma. It’s a perfect combination and I just – very reluctantly – put the one I hadn’t finished away until next summer. Time to burn autumn fragrances…..but this one stays on my mind. It is perfect in the kitchen!

  2. I LOVE this scent from Goose Creek! It is such an amazing fresh citrus clean scent! I have not purchased the large jar yet but have bought many of their wax melts in this scent and all were strong and made my house smell so clean!
