First impression of Gooey Marshmallow:
Gooey Marshmallow isn’t exactly a classic Christmas scent but if you love sweet marshmallow aromas… who cares? I adore marshmallow scents when they’re realistic and oh my goodness, this candle smelled PERFECT!! With my nose up to the wax, I smelled a sweet and sugary marshmallow that literally smelled like I was breaking open a big fat marshmallow and smelling the innards. I smelled the sugar, the gooeyness and something else that gave it a tinge more sweetness. What could it be?
Here is the scent description for Gooey Marshmallow:
Torched marshmallows, brown sugar, caramel drizzle.
CARAMEL!! That’s what I smelled, and yes, the brown sugar too. Marshmallow is definitely the predominant scent to this fragrance but the added sugar and teeny hints of caramel really do add a lot. Loved it!! Now hoping the scent stays true once burning. Oh, please!!

Even though I didn’t want it to be true, something told me this candle was going to be light. So, I lit my Gooey Marshmallow candle in my tiny little powder room just to test the waters. And…. that’s where it stayed till the very end. I am so sad. So, SO sad! Once the wicks were lit, it took the average 10 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… that took a good hour to really start noticing. Yep, even in a super small room. Once I did start noticing it, yum!! A sweet and sugary marshmallow fragrance filled my little power room and it smelled divine. It was perfect. The only downside, the fragrance was super light, but as far as marshmallow scents go – Gooey Marshmallow was stellar and very realistic. Bummer on the strength.
Which brings me to strength – I would rate Gooey Marshmallow a 5 out of 10 in a really small room which isn’t very strong. As the candle progressed though, the aroma seemed to strengthen so that was a plus. Bottom line, should you give this candle a try, start burning it in a small room and go from there. Who knows, maybe you’ll get a better scent throw than I did.
How did my candle burn?
This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
Loved Gooey Marshmallow. As far as marshmallow scents go, this one sets the bar. Strength wise, now that needs improvement. Would I purchased Gooey Marshmallow again? Yes if it’s on mega sale. It really did smell good enough to eat. 😊
Just an FYI, I don’t see Gooey Marshmallow listed on Bath & Body Works website right now but I’m pretty sure it’s still in stores. Hit a store and smell this candle – see what you think. You may just walk away with one.
