  1. Thanks to everyone who has agreed to melt/burn something fruity tomorrow morning! (or tonight, whatever works.) I am really looking forward to reading about everyone's scents. CFers are so supportive, I love it!!

You're already in my prayers for doors that are good 4 U to be opened. And doors that are not, to be closed. [smilie=th_bighug-1]

Thanks especially for this, Sweet. I am trying to embrace that kind of mentality with things like this. [smilie=thank_you]

As for melting, I just finished AMS Pumpkin Vanilla and put on GHBT Lemon Blossom, which is already very strong. Thought I was done with GHBT's and then found one more.

  2. Hi folks. I'm melting SH Sugared Cranberries (from '08 holiday sampler...almost done with these) and burning a couple CYS candles. DH is making a light dinner and then we are headed to the gym.

Still thinking of you, Michele. Hugs to you and your family.

Sooo...I have a job interview on Tuesday morning. My prediction is that it will probably go fine but my stomach churns whenever I think about it. I have an idea that is inspired by how we sometimes melt blue tarts for people that need healing...would any Candlefinders be willing to melt a fruity scent for good luck for me on Tuesday morning? It would give me a big warm fuzzy to know that a few of you have something Christy-ish in the melters. Things like Froot Loop scents, lemon bakery or other citrus, berry anything, cotton candy, etc. Just a thought...and then it would be so much fun to read about what people melted when I get home in the afternoon. Anybody in??

  3. Happy weekend, everyone.

I'm melting Nene's Lemon Sugar & Candied Violet along with an Etsy candle in the same scent. Together these two pretty much blew me out of the bedroom, so I switched around some melters. I also have SH Bewitched Broomsticks and LSC White Witch going. (didn't really notice the "witch" theme until just now) It's still such a gas for me to be melting scents simultaneously in different rooms!

  4. Another night when I can't sleep...the kitty loves it when I am up at night, though. She likes the company.

I'm melting SH Mrs. Claus Candy Cane Cookies. Also finished melting the last bits of a couple container candles -- that leaves me with fewer than 10. I'm happy to be getting that close to the end, because while I adore melting, I'm ready to take a break from jar candles. Going to do some votives and pillars eventually.

  5. Yankee's Vanilla Lime is very nice. Spotted Hog has a similar scent called Frosted Lime Cupcake.

You also might want to try a Fizzy Pop scent at some point. Very lemon-limey and you can smell the carbonation!

Cleanse Your Soul has some good lime scents, but a lot of them are blended with pinks so you'd have to be careful about which ones you pick.

[edited to add: As I am reminded by Laurie, Violet Lime is usually fabulous from just about anyone. I know many vendors have it, including Lasting Scent, Sugar Scent, and Soy Lovely. Your DH can't handle very strong scent, right? I think I've heard that Soy Lovely tends to be on the lighter side, so that might be a good choice for you. They have some nice, unique blends.]

  6. Aria, Maggie's avatar looks like the northern lights to me. (Maggie, am I right?) One time when I was little, my mom got pulled over because someone noticed our vehicle swerving to the side. It was because the northern lights were really pretty and my mom would look at them for a few seconds until she hit the rumble strip.

Wicked Sista and Honeybear, I'm sorry for your losses. Aunts and uncles are special.

I'm melting SH Divinity Fudge but this one has been going a while, so I'm about to switch it out to McCall's Laura's Lemon Loaf. Going to melt the remnants of a bakery lemon candle on one of my warmers, too. As far as using up candles goes, I've been cleaning house lately. (regular "cleaning house" not so much...)

[edited to add...iloveyummysmells, Full Moon and Yankee are two places where you can buy votives one at a time. I'm sure others could come up with more.]

  7. Congratulations on your anniversary, trep! :skywriter:

I'm melting McCall's Country Store and working my way through the "these are definitely really old/I don't know how old these are so they might be really old" bin. I think I'm over halfway done with it. TBG Winter Woodland just keeps going and going in the bedroom, so I'm not making much progress with that melter. But the scent is divine.

Waiting to hear the latest update on the job I applied for. (I can't wait until the process is over, even if I don't get hired.)

  8. Laundry day here today. [smilie=th_rk01_lavatricefare]

Sweet, yes, we are supposed to get snow tonight. That would be the 2nd time this winter. DH is hoping for a snow day tomorrow but I am betting it will thaw. We did receive a winter weather email from the city, though. You never know!

Earlier today I melted LSC Pomegranate Fig Cedar. When my LSC order arrived last year, I knew this was a rare dud right away, and sure enough, when melted I only got the faintest whiff of a very subtle cedar. You wouldn't know it was there unless you were sniffing for it. I dumped it out right away and threw away the other half of the tart cup. Now it's an oldie -- BG Green Apple Pucker.

The kitty is sprinting around crazily as if someone is trying to set her on fire. [smilie=th_tigger] I don't know what gets into her sometimes, but she is just so gosh darn cute no matter what she does.

DH, meanwhile, got a Nook yesterday and is so glued to it already that it's really driving me nuts. [smilie=th_c53] Anybody else's family zone out on technology? If so, what do you do about it?

  9. I'm burning a few candles and melting LSC Pink Fruit Lupes -- this is such a HUGE favorite of mine! Luckily I double-ordered it on my first order, so I still have another 2 halves to go. Hope I get the chance to reorder this one someday. This scent was my reward for melting that dang fire one earlier.

Earlier today I used up my YC Autumn Leaves big jar. Hooray!

  10. Moved on to another oldie...that's right folks...EW Coffee with Santa. This is my last EW tart.

    * moment of silence *

I also finished my cotton candy candle from Diamond Candles. Burning that and getting the ring out, etc was a fun experience.

Little by little I'm working on a bunch of little 8-oz CBV candles. I must've gotten a sampler pack. Several other candles have recently been relegated to the "warmer only" category because there is only a little wax left. I'm making progress toward clearing off some space on my candle shelf.

  11. Glad to hear your dog is better, Sweet. And a big GET WELL SOON to all the other sick CF furbabies.

I'm burning several candles melting TBG Tinsel. This one isn't my favorite, but it's better than bayberry.

Lately I have been obsessed with finishing off some old candles. I'm also thinking of getting some new combo melters -- I only have just the one and it's been going since 2008.

  12. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! [smilie=th_00000020]

Lots of Can-Do on the boards today -- I'm melting Cinnamon & Sugar type and Sweetie Pie.

Next up will be LOL Sweet 16 (long discontinued) because DH thought a rose scent would be good for Valentine's day. Aww.

The job application thing is progressing. I received word yesterday that they are calling my references. Gives me a pit in my stomach because I get so stressed out over these things, but it's a good sign. I'm de-stressing by plotting my Pure Integrity order. [P.S. Has anyone tried PI's lavender?]

    :happyvday:
