Introduction to my review of Cookies for Santa from Walmart:
Have any of you noticed the newest candles lining Walmart shelves this holiday season? They look exactly like Bath & Body Works candles down to the 3 wicks and flat shiny chrome lids. I scanned the label to find the actual manufacturer but the label doesn’t list anything so I’m assuming these candles are being made exclusively under the Walmart name.
So far I’ve only spied holiday fragrances so of course I had to purchase a couple to review and try. The one fragrance that really caught my attention and stood out the most…. Cookies for Santa. This candle smelled exactly like sweet and warm sugar cookies. Nothing fake or synthetic about it. YUMMO!!!!
What did my candle look like?
I couldn’t find a picture for this candle and of course forgot to take some pics before lighting it (whoops!) but all you really need to know is these candles looks identical to Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles. Identical. Same size and style jar, same chrome lids, same 3 wicks. Total copy cats. The wax color was a creamy white… the label on the candle showed colorful Christmas sugar cookies on a plate with “Cookies for Santa” in a huge font at the top of the label.
What did my candle smell like?
Confession time… I was really surprised how great this candle smelled. I was expecting a cheap and not very authentic aroma but when I opened the candle for the first time… I instead smelled a sweet and warm cookie fragrance. I’m a bakery girl and have a serious soft spot for sugar cookie scents… this one smelled mighty fine……
I couldn’t find a scent description for this candle but none was really needed… imagine the aroma of warm, fresh baked sugar cookies with frosting and sugar sprinkles on top. That’s what the wax smelled like on cold sniff… once burning… it smelled exactly the same… a yummy and warm scrumptious cookie dough. I wanted to eat it!
Strength – this candle was pretty light. I decide to burn it in a small bathroom and it performed perfectly there so I don’t think this candle would do well in a larger room. Such a shame too because this fragrance really is yummy. Had it been stronger, it would have been perfect.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned pretty good. I did have to keep all three wicks trimmed regularly or the flames would get out of control but that’s not uncommon with any candle. This candle burned clean and evenly… no wasted wax… no soot.
This was a pretty decent candle and I would for sure buy it again given the chance. If you’re a bakery lover and on a serious budget… this candle has your name written all over it. And even if you’re not on a budget… this candle is worth a peek. It was lightly scented but for the price… totally worth it in my opinion.
This is a seasonal candle so not sure how long it will be available so if you wanted to try it… you better hurry.
Happy candle hunting!

I just picked this up tonight for .49 cents(Xmas clearance). Smells great but definitely a small room candle.
I love yummy sugar cookie type scents. This candle however, didn’t meet my expectations. The candle burned clean but the throw was just too weak for my liking.
that’s great. i’m always tempted to peruse the candle section at walmart but part of me always has that fear of them being too cheapy and not quality candles. (even though they aren’t expensive i don’t like to even try them out :p) but now that it’s the holidays and more people are coming over i’m more interested in candles for our bathroom and will definitely keep this one in mind — thanks!
