Coconut Cream Pie Candle – Betty Crocker

Coconut Cream Pie Betty Crocker Candle ReviewCoconut Cream Pie

By Christina Rylan

Brand: Betty Crocker

Type: Large 22oz candle

Fragrance: Coconut Cream Pie

Scent Strength: Light

First impression of Coconut Cream Pie:

Coconut Cream Pie was purchased at Big Lots store. The label on the bottom of the candle actually says this brand is distributed by Big Lots so if you want to try it, that’s where to go. For a super inexpensive candle (5 bucks)… it smelled pretty darn good. The wax smelled like a sweet bakery coconut. Let’s hope that holds up once the candle is burning.

Let’s find out!!

I don’t have a scent description to post with this review but the scent name and picture on the label says it all… a creamy bakery coconut pie. Yummy!!

Time to see how this candle performs!

I lit this candle in a small bathroom and that’s where it stayed till the last drop of wax. Once the wick was lit, it took a good 3 hours to reach a full melt pool and the aroma… a creamy coconut bakery all the way. I could clearly make out a flaky pie crust – that part was yummy – along with a creamy and warm coconut custard filling. It was pretty authentic, just very light. All in all – for the price I paid for this candle, I have no regrets.

Strength – I would rate this candle between a 6/7 out of 10 in a super small room. Not very strong but hey, you can’t expect the world from a mass produced $5-dollar candle purchased at Big Lots right? That’s kind of how I went into this review.

How did my candle burn?

This candle burned pretty good. It did struggle reaching a full melt pool with each lighting of the wick but nothing my trusty wick dipper couldn’t fix. I pushed any leftover wax into the melt pool and wallah! No wasted wax.

 Closing to my review:

Better Crocker candles aren’t too bad in my book and worth checking out if you run across any. Coconut Cream Pie smelled good enough to eat and for a $5 dollar candle, I got everything I expected out of it.

Next time you’re at a Big Lots store and you see this candle, smell it. You may walk away with a few.

Happy candle hunting!
