First impression of Coconut Caramel Stripes:
The moment I saw Coconut Caramel Stripes on Yankee’s scent list, I threw one in my cart along with all the other Girl Scout candles on the list. Man! I can’t remember being that excited over candles in a while. I HAD to have them all.
Here is the scent description for Coconut Caramel Stripes:
Almost good enough to eat…a tantalizing fragrance of sugary caramel, warm chocolate and fresh coconut.
Mmmm!! Sounds perfect. I love everything in that description but they’re forgetting one of the best parts… the bakery cookie component. When I popped off the lid to smell the wax for the first time, I noted caramel with hints of coconut the most. The chocolate… very light but hoping that really comes out once the candle is burning. The overall scents smelled delicious and definitely a fragrance you want to take a bite out of. YUM!!!! Another thing I wanted to mention… I noticed the wax in this candle seemed different than Yankee’s normal shiny mottled/hard wax. The wax in this candle was creamier and much softer… it reminded me of a para/soy blend. Interesting….
Time to find out how this candle performs!
I decided to light this candle in a small bathroom to start out since Yankee candles tend to be lightly scented for me… I loved this fragrance so much – I wanted the maximum scent throw possible. Boy oh boy was a small room a good call. I lit the candle and left it alone for a good hour and when I came back to check on the aroma… oh my goodness!! Coconut Caramel Cookie HEAVEN!!!! My entire bathroom literally smelled like Samoa’s. Buttery cookie, creamy caramel and luscious coconut all combined into a perfectly decedent aroma I wanted to EAT!! And surprisingly, this candle was giving off a decent scent throw… enough that I could have easily moved it to a bigger room. I didn’t of course because I was too in love with the strength where it was.
The aroma… buttery cookie heaven folks… Yankee nailed this scent 100%. It smelled exactly like a Girl Scout Somoa… so realistic, I could almost taste it and really wished I had the real cookies to compare. I know enough by memory though and feel fairly confident… this was a match. LOVED!!!!!
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a small room which is GREAT for a Yankee candle!! 5/6 in a medium room and not sure I’d even try burning this in a large room unless you don’t care about the aroma.
How did my candle burn?
My candle burned perfect. My candle achieved full melt pools with each lighting and burned clean and evenly from beginning to end. I did have to keep up on wick maintenance but that’s normal with any candle. A+ on burn performance.
Closing to my review:
Honestly, this candle surprised the heck out of me and I’m seriously in love with it. So much so, I’ll be impatiently waiting for their next good sale to purchase a few more to keep on hand. And now I really can’t wait to burn the other Girl Scout cookie scents to see if they’re as good. I sure hope
so.
Highly recommend this candle to all you bakery lovers out there. And yes, it’s a Yankee candle and yes… it actually gave a decent throw and performed awesome!! Yay!!
