What a joy it is to be doing another Champagne Cottage review, as it is one of my favorite indie candle companies. We initially did an introductory review a while back, as they were new to me at the time. I fell head over heels in love with their soy candles and the room spray. They have since grown and made some changes, so it is high time we dig a bit deeper into the company.
One thing that has changed is Champagne Cottage now offers a Luxe Collection, a group of luxurious soy candles with unique scent combinations that are meant to help you enjoy the finer things in life. We were able to try Champagne Memoirs from this collection, which was a real treat. The Chivalry Collection is slanted towards more masculine fragrances, and we tried the fragrance Bequest from this line. Lastly, we tried a scent dupe, Bacca Baby, from their Classic Collection.
Candlefind uses a specific process to try to test all candles and wax melts on as even a playing field as possible. For wax melts, we use a tealight melter, hotplate melter, and a bulb melter to test each fragrance when possible. Here are our thoughts on each candle we tested, but if you’re in a hurry scroll down to the bottom for our overall thoughts!
Champagne Memoirs Glass Candle
I absolutely love the look of the new Luxe Collection candles! This candle was housed in a glass, lidless jar that had a heavy-bottom, giving it some weight. The candle came shrink wrapped to preserve the freshness. Champagne Cottage does not use any dyes in their wax and this particular line of candles comes single wicked. It is such a beautiful and quiet-stately piece, it would be welcome in the finest of homes.

The cold sniff was mostly fruity with some hints of floral notes. It was a beautiful fragrance, but I didn’t get the complexity of the blend until the candle was lit. Oh…my…goodness! This scent was very romantic with more of the amber and sandalwood coming out as it burned. The sweetness of the fruit-mix and then the blend of heady peonies was amazing. It was intoxicating!
I found this scent strength about a 4 out of 5 with a similar throw. I could truly enjoy it in my workspace without it becoming too overwhelming. The candle burned cleanly and I was able to get a full wax melt pool in a short period of time. This 10 ounce candle burned well for its life-span of over 70 hours.
Bequest Travel Tin Candle
The Bequest candle is from the Chivalry Collection, with the black tin candle giving a more masculine vibe to it than the others. These 5 ounce candles are perfect for scent on the go, and it comes packaged in a gift box that includes crinkle paper.

This was a sexy fragrance, with the cold sniff making me swoon. The scent description compares this fragrance to Davidhoff’s Cool Water cologne, and we could definitely get the resemblance. This scent was fresh and clean with sexy musk notes that made it incredibly beautiful. The warmth of the sandalwood blended well with the bright, citrus notes that made this scent energizing, too. We found this fragrance strength about 3 with a scent throw of around 3.5 out of 5. I did cut this wick a bit too short and it ended up taking my candle a long time to get to a full wax melt pool, but it did get there. I found this size candle to work best by my office desk or guest bathroom.
Bacca Baby Travel Tin Candle
Bacca Baby is a scent that is in the Classic Collection but can also be purchased in the Luxe Collection. This is reminiscent of the gorgeous perfume, Baccarat Rouge 540 and it is incredibly complex and beautiful. The cold sniff of heady jasmine blended well with warm cedar notes.

This candle fragrance was amazing. It had floral notes but I wouldn’t consider it a floral fragrance. It was somewhat sweet but was also very warm and a bit spicy. I found the longer it burned, the more complex and rich it became. Stunning!
I did better with a bit longer wick for starters on this candle and got a full wax melt pool in no time. The scent strength was about 4 out of 5 with a 4.5 scent throw. I was able to enjoy this candle at my desk for about 45 hours.
What did we like about Champagne Cottage?
We absolutely love how the candles from Champagne Candle come packaged. They are perfect for gift giving right on arrival, no extra packaging required! The products are obviously well made, with the candles in the Luxe Collection giving that luxury vibe. The candles burn cleanly and are easy to maintain. The scent combinations are amazing and each candle we tested fragranced our spaces well.
What didn't we like about Champagne Cottage?
There is a lot to shop when visiting the Champagne Cottage website, and it can be a bit overwhelming at first. However, Brandi has organized all the different collections well on her site, and she is also very approachable if there are any questions.
Candlefind's Recommendation
We thoroughly enjoyed the Champagne Memoirs, Bequest, and Bacca Baby candles we tried from Champagne Cottage. The products are well made with a lot of attention to detail, and they do come ready for gift giving! As with our initial review, we found the products to be fragranced well and to have excellent, slow burns.
