We love luxury candles partially because of how they look and make us feel, but we can only splurge so much on these higher priced brands. That’s why we were so excited to try Talent Candles, which offer a luxurious look and feel to many of their candles but for a fraction of the price. But how do these candles smell and perform? We’re about to find out!
A Closer Look at Talent Candles
Talent Candles are a brand of candles that are under the Home Lights umbrella, which we have previously reviewed. Home Lights as been in business since 2004, so they obviously have been doing something right. The Talent Candles come in a variety of styles, most of them large with heavy glass and complete with gift boxes.
The candle wax is soy and the candles we tested were without dye or embeds. Here you can find larger style candles with multiple wicks, clean burns, and long burning times.

Products Offered
There are several candle styles available under the Talent Candles brand. They have single wick, double wick, and 3-wick candles available. There are some candles that do have colored wax. We tried a sampling of three different candle styles to get an idea of the variety available.

Bergamot & Jasmine Musk
The Bergamot & Jasmine Musk candle is a part of the aromatherapy line at Talent Candles. It arrived in a black gift box with Pure & Whisper printed on the box. The candle itself is huge. It weighs in at 10 ounces and is a 3-wick tumbler style, similar to the 3-wick Bath & Body Works’ candles. However, this candle is a bit more “squat” and has a massive type of appearance. The lettering on the front of the jar, including the scent and company names, gave a beautiful sense of elegance. This candle did come with a white lid.

The scent on this candle was absolutely beautiful! It was fresh and bright due to the bergamot, with the jasmine and musk notes making the fragrance a bit heavier. It was a powerful fragrance, with its scent strength 4 out of 5 and the throw rating a 5.
Teak Mahogany
The Teak Mahogany candle was also huge and gorgeous! It is a Scandanavian style, very minimalistic and calming. The heavy ceramic jar felt upscale and housed the candle with 3-wicks inside. It had an adorable leather handle and gold-top lid.

This candle scent was absolutely beautiful. It was more masculine but it did also have some soft, floral notes. The scent was similar to Mahogany Teakwood from Bath & Body Works, but the floral notes were a bit more prominent here. This was such a good, sexy fragrance. The scent strength was a 4 out of 5 with the throw about the same.
Sandalwood & Jasmine
The final candle I tested came in a celebratory style box with a label to match. The writing on the label was “A True Friend Is The Greatest of All Blessings.” This would make a great gift for a lot of different occasions. This candle was scented in Sandalwood & Jasmine and was 8.4 ounces.

This fragrance was beautiful, a bit more floral than I expected. The heady jasmine was tampered a bit with the warmth of sandalwood, making for a really nice blend. It was a milder fragrance, rating a 3 out of 5 for scent strength with a 3.5 throw.
Overall Impression of Talent Candles

We were really impressed with Talent Candles. As with any candles under the HomeLights umbrella, the candles are massive for your purchase, and they are very well scented. The burns for these Talent candles are solid and they lasted a long time. We found that they actually lasted longer than the stated burn time. Considering how affordable they are, they are a great soy candle option. The candles are well packaged and come ready for gift-giving. They have a wide variety of styles, which also makes shopping for gifts so much easier. Overall, we recommend Talent Candles and give them a solid 4.5 out of 5.
