First impression of Baking Christmas Goodies:
Tis the season and with it comes all those yummy bakery Christmas scents I absolutely love to burn. I’m a bakery girl… I can’t help myself. The moment I saw Baking Christmas Goodies on a Walmart shelf and popped off the lid… I said a few “Mmmm’s” in appreciation and smiled from ear to ear. This candle smelled YUMMY!!!!
Cute candle too. The candle itself reminded me of Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles. Same jar, same flat lid. The label on the candle showed a little girl baking with her mom or Grandma… hard to tell which but the point is, the scent is all about baking yummy Christmas goodies.
Here is the scent description I found on the bottom of the candle:
Caramel, sugarcane and buttercream.
Mmmm!! Smelling the wax… I detected all three in the description and it was mouthwatering. Heaps of buttercream dominated with sweet sugar and caramel in the background. YUM!!
Time to find out how this candle burns!!
I started this candle in a medium sized room (my guest bedroom) and waited for the magic to begin. Within 20 minutes, the candle reached a full melt pool but the fragrance was pretty light so I ended up moving it to smaller bathroom. From then on out… perfect!! The aroma… a sweet caramel pudding type scent. It didn’t smell like cake or cookies. It was more of a sweet and buttery caramel pudding. Very nice, just lightly scented.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 2 in a large room, 5 in a medium room and an 7/8 in a small room. This candle seemed much more suited to a smaller room.
How did my candle burn?
This was an interesting candle. The three wicks lit up fine and about 2 hours into lighting it, I had to trim the wicks. From then on, I stayed pretty vigilant with keeping all three trimmed or the flames would get too high. About halfway down, one wick broke loose from the bottom and floated to the edge of the glass. Not good – if the glass gets too hot, it could break. Once I moved it back to the center and made sure it stayed there, it burned pretty good from then on out. This was just a reminder though to always watch the candles you’re burning.
Closing to my review:
Baking Christmas Goodies wasn’t what I was expecting but it was still a delightful bakery scent and a candle I would purchase again. What was I expecting? I went in thinking it would be a cookies or cake kind of scent but it ended up being more of a creamy caramel pudding instead. The price was definitely right, I think I paid $8 dollars for this candle which is great for a 14oz candle.
If you’re a bakery lover, check this scent out next time you’re at Walmart… see what you think.
Happy candle hunting!
