Introduction to my review:
While searching my candle shelf for a new candle to review… I came across Apple Strudel from Circle E and immediately grabbed it to light up next. I was in the mood for something apple’y and as soon as I smelled this delightful spicy scent… I knew this would satisfy that craving. Mmmmm!! It smelled like a truly authentic hot baked apple pie. YUM!!!!
I really have enjoyed all the Circle E Candles I’ve tried in the past so I’m not sure why I don’t order from them more often. They are a tad on the pricier side but the quality is top notch and they have some really great staple fragrances. I’m going to make a point to review more of this line in the future.
What did my Apple Strudel candle look like?
I love the style of Circle E jar candles. All of their jars are a heavy and thick square glass. The lid is square to match and has the Circle E logo embossed into the glass. There is round sticker on one side of the jar that is gold and red with the Circle E Logo and scent name in the center. I’m not the greatest as describing candle so see picture for a better visual reference.
What did my candle smell like?
First sniff… Mmmmmm…. a classic and fantastic baked apple scent. I could smell the apples, the crust and the perfect touch of spice. I love apple pie scents and this version was spot on. My favorite part… it was super bakery. Not solid apples or spice but more bakery with hints of apples and spice. That’s what this candle smelled like and it was PERFECT!!
Here is the scent description from Circle E’s website:
“The essence of the Old Country. Spicy baked apple aroma – fresh from the oven.”
I cannot believe this candle sat on my shelf for over a year… it’s literally one of the best bakery apple scents I‘ve smelled in a long time!! The scent description does not do this fragrance justice. Truly.
Because this was a small candle with one wick, I decided to burn it in a small bathroom for testing purposes. Once lit, it didn’t take long to begin noticing the fragrance and oh my goodness was it amazing… mouthwatering baked apples with hints of cinnamon surrounded by a warm bakery crust. As I said earlier… that was the best part of this fragrance for me… it was all flakey doughy crust with hints of apples and cinnamon. You can almost imagine taking a bite out of it. I love that!! I love it when a fragrance is that authentic. I wanted to eat this candle with a tall glass of milk. YUM!!!!
Strength – this candle was small and was perfect burning in a small room. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this about a 7. It wasn’t super strong but gave a nice medium scent throw. A larger candle would be perfect in a medium sized room. Highly recommend this scent if you love warm apple scents, heavy on the crust.
My candle burned pretty decent from beginning to end. It burned evenly and clean with the exception of the far four corners of the candle where the wax didn’t want to fully melt. I think that’s pretty normal with square glass jars. I did trim my wick before each lighting. No soot or smoke. Great candle!
Closing to my review:
I am definitely purchasing this candle again only in a bigger size next time. It is the perfect apple bakery scent. It wasn’t overly spicy or too heavy on the apples… it was a perfect balance of all three elements… apples, spice and crust. LOVED!!!!! Great job Circle E!!
Highly recommend this candle. Apple pie lovers… it’s a must try.
Happy candle hunting!
