First impression of Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin:
Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin sounded a little strange at first. Pineapple and pumpkin combined? An interesting combination for sure, but after smelling the wax, I was intrigued. I smelled the pineapple loud and clear but I also smelled a definite bakery component and it smelled pretty yummy.
Here is the scent description for Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin:
Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin fragrance is a juicy blend of sweet pear, fragrant apple and hints of citrus with warm notes of cinnamon spiced pumpkin, crushed all-spice, brown sugar and sweet amber completed with a touch of juicy pineapple.
WOW! That’s quite the mix of scents. I wasn’t really smelling any pear or apple, nor cinnamon or crushed spice but if all that makes it’s presence known once melting, I’ll be perfectly happy.
Let’s find out!
Melting:
I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in two electric melters in my great room. Once melting, it took minutes before the fragrance was moving through the room and boy was it different. Strangely, I could swear I smelled pine or balsam in the mix but that’s not listed in the scent description at all. Up close to the wax though, I smelled a bakery pineapple with a light sprinkling of cinnamon. Hours went by and I was still smelling the pine/balsam component throughout my great room so I asked my husband what he was smelling when he came home from work and sure enough… he agreed! He said he smelled a subtle hint of pine but the overall aroma was really sweet.
Yay! I’m not losing my mind!! LOL!!
After a full day of melting Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin, I’m going out on a limb and reaffirm this fragrance smelled like pineapple, brown sugar, a hint of bakery with fresh balsam/pine. Could the amber, pear, apple and citrus combined somehow have manifested into the pine I kept smelling? Maybe, but I’m telling you, that’s what I smelled. And the pumpkin? I didn’t smell a lick of pumpkin. So either my nose is completely off with this one (which could very well be) or Better Homes and Gardens made a mistake with the scent description.
Next time you’re at Walmart, find this scent, smell it and see what you think. It’s very different and very strong! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Aloha Pineapple Pumpkin a 10 in any size room. I started noticing the aroma seconds after placing the wax in my melters. After 10 minutes, it was everywhere. Loved the strength!
Happy melting!
