Joy Scented Candle Review – White Barn

What did my candle smell like?
WOOHOO!! My last holiday candle from Bath & Body Works and can finally move on to other scents. It took me close to the entire month to get through all these candles but it was worth it. And I found some keepers I’ll repurchase again next year.
I love White Barn and wish I could have reviewed this candle last month… but alas… it wasn’t meant to be. The good news… this fragrance is perfect all winter long…. It smelled like marshmallows and peppermint. Sweet, crisp and yummy!! Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:
“Indulge in the fragrance of fluffy vanilla marshmallows, which are full of holiday sweetness and peppermint joy.”
Yes, that exactly what this fragrance smelled like… sweet marshmallows and cool peppermint candies. And don’t let the holiday label discourage you from burning this one post-holiday either. It’s a scent you can burn all winter long.
I lit this candle in a large bedroom and waited for the magic to begin but sadly… it never happened. When I came back an hour later to check on the candle, only one wick was lit so the wax was tunneling. I tried a few tricks to get all three wicks to stay lit but it never worked. No matter what I did, one or more wicks kept extinguishing by themselves. It totally reminded me of the issue Bath & Body Works had a couple of years back with their wick drowning issues.
So, I never got this candle going enough to gauge the fragrance. What I could smell was delicious… a sweet and yummy marshmallow with the perfect touch of mint. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to accurately review the overall candle.
How did my candle burn?
I’m pretty disappointed with this candle and I’m sure if I could purchase another one, it would probably be fine. But unfortunately, I can only write my experience on the candle I received and this candle did not burn well at all. All three wicks were defective and the candle tunneled horribly.
Closing to my review:
Don’t you hate it when you purchase a candle and are so excited to get home and burn it – only to discover it’s defective? So disappointing and I know it happens but it still makes me sad. I want to make it clear, I loved the fragrance – a lot!
This candle unfortunately was a dud and I’m pretty bummed about it. I love White Barn and was really looking forward to burning this one. I love marshmallows and peppermint so should 
“Joy” make a comeback next year, I’ll probably purchase it again and see how it goes. I’m hoping this was a fluke but as far as this experience goes (for this review) – it didn’t have a happy ending.

I would have rated this candle higher had it burned correctly but it didn’t and our policy is to rate a candle based off the first experience. I feel bad but it is what it is.
