I picked up this Vanilla Cupcake votive as part of a special while shopping at Yankee Candle Company a few months ago. It was a familiar scent to me that I really love. I’ve tried the large jar in this scent before and, while I found the scent absolutely delicious, I didn’t get much of a scent throw from that candle. I was hopeful by using this votive as a wax melt.
Since I had a new melter with a larger bowl, I used the entire wax melt in my 20W hotplate melter. It did not take long for this scent to start filling the kitchen area – divine! It was like a freshly baked, warm vanilla cupcake and there was just enough buttercream frosting. Yum!
The scent description from the Yankee Candle website reads:
The rich, creamy aroma of vanilla cupcakes with hints of lemon and lots of buttery icing.
I didn’t get any hints of lemon in this. Just vanilla and sweet frosting. It didn’t matter to me because the scent was so good! I will definitely use these for this scent again instead of wasting money on the large jar.
