Honeysuckle Happy Wax Melt, Westbury Candle Co [Review]

Etsy is a great place to shop for indie wax vendors, and that is how we stumbled across Westbury Candle Co. They make some gorgeous wax melts with plenty of glitter and mica and we happen to love that additional bling. One of the wax melts we tried recently was Honeysuckle Happy, which we found perfect for the springtime.

This is a fantastic fragrance for floral fans. As there are plenty of fresh, green notes, the scent is not overly floral. The sweetness of the honeysuckle makes it a vibrant, Spring type scent. If you prefer decorative melts with color, glitter, and mica, this is a good choice.

The Honeysuckle Happy wax melt was a clamshell style natural soy wax melt from Westbury Candle Co. It weighed in as 3 ounces of soy wax – the clamshell package was full! The label on front was a bright yellow and had a depiction of a closeup of a honeysuckle vine, complete with bees in the blooms. The company and scent names were clearly displayed on this outside label. 

The first thing that we loved so much was how full this clamshell was! We are used to approximately 2.4-2.5 ounces of wax per clamshell, but this clam held a good 3 ounces of wax. We also loved the bling-bling…the top of the wax melt was decorated with pretty bits of glitter and mica, just making us extra happy. 

This wax melt smelled so good cold! It had a sweet floral fragrance to it, with the honeysuckle notes really becoming more apparent as the wax warmed. The scent of honeysuckle can be “too” floral for some, but this blend was really sweet and not too heady. The added green notes were perfect. This fragrance was pretty strong and had a great scent throw – we smelled it all throughout the open living space we were in. 

When using the freezer method to clean out my wax melter, the soy wax was still a bit difficult to get out of my melter. The wax did harden up but needed to be scraped out of the bowl. However, it was easier to clean out all the glitter and mica by using this method rather than the pour-out hot method.
