Spring is in the air! It’s time to put away those heavier, brooding fragrances and break out some of the best Spring candles. There are tons of options out there and not all are floral, candle lovers. We break down the different scent categories and give you some of our picks for some springtime fun.

Floral

Floral fragrances are often the first to come to mind when thinking of the best Spring scents, and for good reason! This is the time of year that flowers start to bloom and the air begins to fill with their glorious notes. Floral scented candles tend to be very popular during this season for just this very reason. Some particularly popular fragrances are rose, lavender, jasmine, and gardenia. But there are a wild array of options from single scent note candles to amazing blends.
Buying The Best Candles for Spring Floral

Some of our favorite floral scented candles for the spring include Trapp Fragrances’ Bob’s Flower Shoppe, Yankee Candle’s Fresh Cut Roses, and 1803 Candles’ Vintage Lilac.

Citrus

Tangy and sweet, citrus fragrances are also a great choice for a springtime candle. There are plenty of fruits that are in season in the Spring, including lemons and pineapple. Citrus scents can smell like burning fuel, so it’s a bit trickier to find good smelling citrus candles that you would want burning in your home for a long time. When you find a good one, we recommend you buy it in bulk!

Buying The Best Candles for Spring Citrus

Some of our favorite citrus based candles to burn during the Spring are Aromatique’s Valencia Orange, Yankee Candle’s Lemon Lavender, and Kringle Candle Company’s Charred Pineapple.

Earthy

Earthy fragrances are an excellent option for spring, as you think of freshly tilled soil or the dew on the grass after a morning rain. The scents of bergamot, vetiver, and sandalwood are perfect for spring.

Buying The Best Candles for Spring Earthy

Our favorite earthy type scents for Spring include Wild Bamboo from Bath & Body Works, Charcoal from Anthropologie, and Meadow Showers from Yankee Candle.

Fresh/Clean

Spring cleaning, anyone? When we put out the old for the new, we like the way the house smells so fresh, crisp, and clean. The fresh and clean fragrance scents are great to get us in the mood or to make the feeling last.

Buying The Best Candles for Spring Clean

Some of our favorite fresh/clean scents for the Spring include Swan Creek’s After the Rain, Trapp Fragrances’ Watermint Eucalyptus, or Slatkin’s Fresh Cotton Clouds.

Ozone

Ozone fragrances are very close to the fresh/clean category and, actually, there is a lot of overlap. We recognize it as a separate group, though, for our Spring candles as there is a distinctive sharpness to these scents that reminds you of a cool breeze on a beachside. We thinks of lots of water and airy notes, often combined with citrus.

Buying The Best Candles for Spring Ozone Scents

Our picks for ozone type scents for the Spring include Water from Trapp Fragrances, Sea Breeze from Kringle, and Mineral Springs from Pure Integrity

There you have it! Some of our picks for the best Spring candles you should be lighting up this season and beyond. Do tell us…what is your favorite type of scent to burn in the Spring?
