First Impression of Boysenberry Butterscotch Blondie:
Food Network candle and melts have been kind of hit or miss for me. I either love a scent or I don’t. One scent could be super strong, another you can barely smell. You just don’t know until you actually try it. This brand is exclusively found at Kohl’s but you can also purchase their candles and melts through Food Network’s website.
Boysenberry Butterscotch Blondie smelled pretty good when I popped the lid off at the store. The wax smelled like blackberries and sugar. Not so much bakery notes but more fruity. I liked it, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. I couldn’t find a scent description for this fragrance either but by the looks of the picture… butterscotch browning with swirls of boysenberry jelly.
Time to find out how these melts perform!
Melting:
I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in 2 electric melters in my great room. Once the wax was in place, it took roughly 10 minutes to really start noticing the scent and the aroma…. I didn’t know what to think of it. I smelled a tart and fruity scent, which I’m sure was the boysenberry – that part was okay. But another element was present in the background that smelled synthetic and I didn’t care for that at all. The overall scent just didn’t smell right. My daughter thought it smelled like burning paper. Whatever it was… 2 thumbs down. Sorry Food Network.
In closing… I do not recommend this scent. Should you run across it at Kohl’s, smell it and see what you think.
Happy melting!
