We stumbled upon Ambrosia Flame Candles when we were previously sourcing for our subscription boxes. While we don’t do the subscription boxes anymore, we are continuously amazed at some of the creativity and how many very talented chandlers there are. When our world opened up to Ambrosia Flame Candles, we had no idea what a treat we were in for!
A Closer Look at Ambrosia Flame Candles
Mandy is the talented chandler behind the company Ambrosia Flame. She made it her mission to create beautiful, healthy candles that were free of toxins for healthy enjoyment. Her candles are made with 100% pure soy wax, essential oils, some fragrance oils, pink Himalayan salt, and natural ingredients, such as fruit peels. Fruit peels? Oh yeah…the candles are beautifully decorated on the surface and add to the allure of these wonderful, hand-crafted candles.
I was excited to try these candles because they are beautiful to look at and I’ve been on a soy candle kick, as is. Mandy has been so easy to work with and has such a wonderful personality, it was easy to love these candles even before they hit my doorstep!
All of our soy candles are handcrafted, nontoxic, and natural. They are created using 100% soy wax from USA grown soybeans, cotton/paper wicks, high-quality fragrance containing essential oils, and organic flower petals and other natural materials for decorative purposes.

This company has mason jar style candles in three sizes as of this writing: 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz. They also offer wax melts – now sold in bags instead of clamshells – that you do have to contact Mandy ahead of time to order.
Malibu Sunset
Although the company no longer sells individual clamshells, we were able to get our hands on some of them when they did. Malibu Sunset is a beautiful soy wax clamshell with decorative elements as seen in the photo. These clamshells were FULL and very fragrant when opening the container. The labels were well made – very professional – with the company and scent names clearly displayed.
The scent description reads: Inspired by the delicious fruity cocktail, a Malibu Sunset, this candle captures the fragrance of sweet pineapple, exotic coconut, juicy mango, creamy vanilla, and a touch of rum.
Oooh, this fragrance was so good! Very tropical and inviting. I could smell mostly the fruity nature with the pineapples and mangoes, and there were creamy coconut notes as well. The scent was grounded with the rum notes and that made it linger for a while, even after turning off the melter. Even though these melts were decorative, it was not hard to clean up my wax melter. The scent strength was good at 3.5 out of 5 with the throw being 4 out of 5.
Amber Honey
Each candle came decorated on the top surface with embeds that matched the scent. Amber Honey was the first one I pulled out and I was immediately in love! The cold sniff on this candle was fantastic! It was warm and slightly sweet. The wax was white and the embeds were rose petals and more.
The scent description reads: Wrap yourself in the cozy scent of sweet honey and captivating amber with our Amber Honey Soy Candle. This rich, luxurious fragrance is one that will scent your home and create a warm and comforting atmosphere. Featuring organic rose petals.

Absolutely heavenly! This candle had a flawless burn and did a great job filling up a large sized bedroom. The throw was all throughout the bedroom, but the scent itself was not overpowering. The warmth from this candle was amazing and I think this was my favorite scent of the bunch. I would rate the strength as 4 out of 5 with a 4.5 scent throw.
Wisconsin Old Fashioned
I may have thought I was blown away by Amber Honey, but it was nothing like Wisconsin Old Fashioned when I pulled it out next. Ohmygoodness – the scent had a warmth to it with a bit of sharp, orange citrus notes. It smelled good enough to drink!
The scent description reads: This soy candle was created based on Wisconsin’s state drink, the Brandy Old Fashioned. With a fragrant combination of citrusy oranges, warm cinnamon, spicy herbs, and a touch of fruit, this candle just may have you craving the real deal. A perfect candle for any Wisconsinite or Brandy Old Fashioned lover! Accented with organic cinnamon chips, organic orange peels & organic hibiscus flower petals.

Yeah, this candle was right up my alley. I absolutely swooned over the cold sniff, but once it was lit…I was even more blown away. The hints of citrus as this candle burned down was an easy reminder of the bright, zippy notes. The boozy aspect of this candle was not over-the-top and kept me wanting more. I could have easily settled down by a cozy fire with this scent burning, curled up with a good book. This was a close second for me scent preference-wise. I would rate this one a 4 for scent strength and throw.
Vanilla Birch
The Vanilla Birch candle had lavender petals sprinkled on the top, making for a gorgeous looking candle.
The scent description reads: Rich vanilla mingles with the nutty, woodsy fragrance of birch in this sophisticated soy candle. A beautifully luscious combination, with notes of pine, chestnut, and caramelized sugar. Accented with Organic lavender petals and Pink Himalayan Sea Salt.

Now, I’ll admit I wasn’t a fan of the cold sniff…just my own personal preference. However, once burning, I warmed up to this scent. It was a thick vanilla scent with some sweet, piney notes. The fragrance was more subtle than the other candles, which I found perfect for this scent. Like all the other candles, I got a clean, even burn with the prettiest melt pool.
Overall Impression of Ambrosia Flame Candles
I am in love with the candles and wax melts from Ambrosia Flame! The clean, flawless burns, the beautiful presentations, and the intoxicating scents…it was more than enough to sway us in their camp. We have perused their site since we tested these candles and they offer a wide variety of fragrances. We think there would be something for just about everyone to enjoy!
