About This Series

What I’ve Been Melting is a recurring Candlefind series dedicated to the wax melts currently taking over the warmers around the Candlefind workspace and home. Each edition features a themed mix of melts ranging from cozy bakery scents and fruity blends to spa-like fresh fragrances and seasonal favorites.

About This Edition

This edition of What I’ve Been Melting celebrates one of my favorite fragrance categories: fruity candy scents. These are the melts that smell like candy shops, gummy treats, fruit chews, and sugary snacks rather than fresh fruit straight from the orchard. Sweet, cheerful, and often a little nostalgic, fruity candy fragrances are perfect when you want something fun filling your home. Here’s a look at the fruity candy wax melts that have recently found their way into my warmer.

Cotton Candy Cloud, ScentSationals

Category: Fruity Candy

Strength: Moderate

Best For: Bedrooms, craft rooms, playrooms, or anyone who enjoys sweet strawberry candy scents.

Despite the name, Cotton Candy Cloud from ScentSationals smelled more like a sweet strawberry candy than traditional cotton candy to me. The fragrance was sugary, fruity, and playful without becoming overwhelmingly strong, settling into a moderate throw in my space. While I didn’t pick up much of the spun-sugar note I associate with cotton candy, the scent still fit perfectly into this fruity candy-themed edition thanks to its bright pink wax and candy-shop sweetness.

Summertime Sadness, Salt Mountain Melts

Category: Fruity Candy

Strength: Very Strong

Best For: Large rooms, open-concept spaces, and anyone who loves sweet tropical candy fragrances.

Summertime Sadness combined Blue Hawaiian, Cherry Slushie, and Cotton Candy into one of the strongest wax melts I’ve used from Salt Mountain Melts. Even years later, the fragrance remains sweet and fruity without becoming overwhelming, blending tropical fruit notes with candy-shop sweetness and impressive staying power. Sadly, Salt Mountain Melts is no longer in business, but I am glad I had the chance to try these melts.

Satsuma Lady, Cheryl’s Candles & Gifts

Category: Fruity Candy

Strength: Strong

Best For: Citrus lovers, spring and summer melting, fans of sweet fruit scents

Cheryl’s Candles & Gifts Satsuma Lady was a bright, juicy citrus scent that reminded me more of sweet orange candy than fresh-cut fruit. The fragrance was strong, long-lasting, and filled the room with cheerful satsuma notes balanced by a touch of sugary sweetness. Sadly, Cheryl’s Candles & Gifts appears to have closed, but Satsuma Lady remains one of the more memorable citrus wax melts I’ve enjoyed over the years.
