From the Archives: Paris Cafe Candle, Bath & Body Works [Review]

Intro To My Review

The moment I smelled Paris Café, I about died and went to heaven. Coffee lovers… this one is swoon worthy and a must-MUST try!!

Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:

Rich roasted coffee, sugared brioche, vanilla crème.

The remainder of the description from the website read:

What it smells like: working remotely from a Parisian café—aka a coffee lover’s dream.

What Do My Candles Look Like?

This candle was their typical 3-wick tumbler complete with a gold lid. It had a gorgeous pink scroll pattern and a gold band down the center that housed the company & scent names. The wax color was a light brown. The bottom sticker did include the scent notes.

Mmmmm!!! Can you smell it? Just imagine walking into a local coffee house filled with the aroma of fresh brewed coffee and warm bakery donuts. YUM!!!!! That’s exactly what the wax smells like. The aroma emanating off this candle was strong too. I had it sitting with the lid in place on my desk for several days before starting this review and I could smell the aroma loud and clear with the lid ON!! That’s pretty potent so I can only imagine what it will smell like once burning. I have high hopes it will knock my socks off!

How Did My Candles Smell?

Let’s find out!

I lit this candle in my favorite room to review Bath & Body Works candles… my master bedroom. It’s a really large room and gives me a nice idea of strength. Once I lit the wicks, it took minutes before I started noticing the aroma and after a good half hour, the aroma was everywhere and I mean everywhere… bedroom, open bathroom, closets, hallway… living room. Get the picture? This scent dominated the entire upper level of my home and it smelled amazing!! It smelled like my own personal coffee house. Rich and creamy coffee with hints of vanilla cream. The sugared brioche kind of gets lost in the mix but I’m sure it was there. The coffee just dominates everything else. LOVED!!!!

Strength – I would rate this candle a 10 out of 10 in any size room. Definitely a room filler. YUM!!!

Editor's Note

While this Bath & Body Works candle review is pulled from our Archives, this particular candle scent is still currently available. It is also still wonderful! It is a creamy, vanilla coffee scent that was mildly sweet and not too harsh. We didn’t have the problem with the wicks as the original reviewer, and we did update the review to describe the current look. The prices have gone up, but we think it’s still worth stocking up on when the candles go on sale. This one is making us rethink our best coffee scented candles!

How Did My Candles Burn?

This candle burned perfect up until a little past the halfway point and then…. the dreaded wick issue happened. All three wicks fizzled out causing an uneven burn and tunneling. UGH!!! It didn’t matter what I did to try and fix it. Total bummer!!!

I did purchase another candle in this fragrance because I loved it so much so I’ll burn that one and see how it goes and will report back. Hopefully it burns perfect.

Conclusion

I absolutely loved Paris Café and highly recommend it if you love coffee scents like I do. The only negative to this review was how this candle performed at the halfway point. I guess that’s just the chance you take with this brand. You never know when it could happen but for me, it’s always at the halfway point.
