Coconut Colada Wax Melts, Tuscany Candles [Review]

Tuscany Candle Company can be found at a lot of different locations such as Kroger’s, Safeway, and Menards. We actually picked up our Coconut Colada wax melts on a reent trip to our local CVS. This wax melt was a great tropical treat that really put us in the Spring Break mood! 

If you like fruity and tropical types of scents, this would be a good wax melt to try. This is also great for Spring or Summer if you are a seasonal melter. 

The type of wax is referred to as a “premium satin wax” and on the packaging it states that it is a soy blend wax. It worked well in all 3 types of melters, but we got the best scent throw with the electric hotplate melter.

The clamshell wax melts from Tuscany Candle are in a larger sized rectangular shaped packaging. The wax weighs in at 2.5 ounces, which is similar to the ones from ScentSationals or Better Homes & Gardens. The package did have pictures of coconut, pineapple, and palm fronds. There was a brief listing of scent notes on the front of the package: coconut milk & island fruit. The wax was white and had a greasy feel to it.

Using our wax melt testing process, I found this melt did well in all three types of burners (electric, bulb, and tealight). I thought the hotplate electric burner gave it more of an even performance and better scent throw overall. You can’t go wrong, though, no matter which type of burner you prefer to use.

The Coconut Colada wax melts were an explosion of tropical goodness. We loved the fruity blend with pineapple and seemed like orange notes. The coconut was blended in well and made things all so smooth and tropical. It did remind of a big glass of pina colada!

These wax melts were super easy to break off and use. They performed well in all 3 melter types, but the electric melter gave the best scent throw. 

The soy wax blend of this wax was a little slick and felt a bit greasy when we were breaking off cubes. It was easy to break apart, but I didn’t enjoy how my hands felt afterwards. 

Although this was a great fragrance, we would have loved it if the scent strength and throw were better. The scent strength just just moderate and we could smell it around in the area it was melting but not far beyond that.
