Circle E Candles at Bella Grace Jewelry & Gifts

Bella Grace Jewelry & Gifts carries a wide range of Circle E Candles. Of course, Circle E is known for their sqaure candle jars, and Bella Grace has many of these available. They carry the 8oz (1-wick), 22oz (2-wick), and 43oz (4-wick) sizes. These candles come in heavy glass jars and are adorned with a gold lid. All the Circle E candles we tested were the 22oz size, which do have 2 wicks and a reported 110 hour burn time. These candle jars are extremely heavy and obviously well made. The candle label covered most of one side of the jar, with the scent name in large letters and the company name also easily displayed. The candle had a gold lid and there was a candle care card sitting on top of the wicks/wax. The color of this candle was a buttery, warm yellow and the wicks were relatively thin. The cold sniff hit me immediately as I lifted the lid…and it was amazing! So rich and thick. I knew I was in for a treat! 

This is one of the best vanilla scents I have ever burned. Once burning, the fragrance was found to be warm and slightly sweet, very rich with seemingly caramel notes. This was a mouthwatering scent and wasn’t too sweet. I did manage to get a full wax melt pool (check the end of the article for tips), and the burn was super, super slow. I did have to stay on top of my wicks to keep them from getting out of hand, but once you know how to burn these candles, it is sheer perfection. I would give this scent strength a 4 out of 5 and the throw was an amazing 4.5.

Next up was Gourmet Sugar Cookie, which, had me falling in love with gourmand fragrances all over again. The 22oz candle jar had a similar appearance as above only it had a tan colored wax. This was such a realistic sugar cookie scent without being overly sweet. It really smelled like a fresh cookie pan full of freshly baked sugar cookies. It was not as buttery as the Buttery French Vanilla fragrance and it was a bit sweeter with the smell of freshly baked cookie dough.

I also managed to get a full wax melt pool with this candle and had a fantastic, even burn. The wicks required active maintenance, but that was a small price to pay for the deliciousness. I would rate the scent throw on this fragrance a 3.5 out of 5 with a perfect 5 scent throw.

Barefoot Beach was such a beautiful light blue color to the wax – it was instantly relaxing. This candle had a terrific cold smell which was slightly fruity and I could definitely smell the musk notes. It was tropical and soothing. 

I had the best time with this particular fragrance. The scent filled my home with tropical oasis goodness – the musk was not too perfumey, but definitely distinct. The mix of fruity notes helped keep this from being too heavy or overwhelming. It had a 4.5 out of 5 scent strength and the throw was a 5. A definite powerhouse! 

I wanted to save the best for last, Bird of Paradise. This candle wax was a light pink color which was perfect for the strawberries and cream scent. The cold sniff made me want to dip in a spoon…I can see why this one is a bestseller! 

Even before I got a full wax melt pool with this candle, I found the scent to be amazingly good. There was a bit of creamy sweetness to the scent with just a hint of the fresh strawberries fragrance. It really smelled a lot like sticking your nose into a bowl of strawberry ice cream. Yum! I found this one to be the lightest of the candles I tried, but it still carried its own. I would rate the scent strength as 3 out of 5 with a 4 out of 5 scent throw. 

I enjoyed each and every one of the Circle E candles I burned. I will say that they do require a little more oversight, I think due to the square jar and wick size. As I have burned Circle E candles before, I knew that you need to get your wick trim right on the first burn, which I opt for about 1/3″ instead of my usual 1/4″. If the candle wicks are too large, the flames can get away from you, and if you cut them too short, you will have a hard time getting the wax to melt all the way into the corners of the jar. You can use the foil trick to force a full wax melt pool or even a heat gun, so there is always a way to get to full. Aside from this bit of “trouble,” the candles burn incredibly well and I found them to be highly fragrant. They are super slow burners, too, so you definitely get your money’s worth. We give the candles 4.5 overall.
