Chesapeake Bay candles have been around it seems forever, and we often forget about them while chasing the latest and the greatest. However, these candles have shown they have a lot of staying power in the candle world, and it’s for good reason. They have a wide variety of scents and the scent blends tend to be spot on. Once we noticed a chill in the air, we sought out candles such as Brown Sugar & Chestnuts.
Who Brown Sugar Chestnut is For?
The Brown Sugar & Chestnuts candle is for those who love gourmand fragrances. While there are no cake or pastry/cookie notes, this would be great for bakery candle lovers as well. If you like sweet candles but with a warmth to it (not the sticky sweet notes), then this would be an ideal candle. It is perfect for Fall or Winter or as a holiday season candle. However, this candle fragrance is something that can be enjoyed year ’round!
Chesapeake Bay Candles tend to have great scent throws but they are not going to blow the doors off the barn with scent strength. If you are more scent sensitive or are having large gatherings, this would be a great fragrance as it will travel well throughout your home without being too “loud.”
What did we test?
We tested a 12 ounce, double wick candle that was housed in a black candle vessel with a brushed copper lid. The wax was white (non-dyed).
The label on the candle took up most of one side of the jar. It included information about the candle, such as the type of wax which is a soy blend. The label was accented with copper lines that matched the color of the lid. It was a stately and lovely jar!

This was also a fairly fast-burning candle. We got about 28 hours of enjoyment out of it before we had to carve the remainder up for wax melts.
